Bill Barr is plugged into, and gets his marching orders from, a network of reactionary Catholics, whose tentacles reach into the highest echelons of power. At the center is a sinister, secretive organization with a Latin name: Opus Dei, “the Work of God.”
That’s the impression you might take away from a new profile of the attorney general in The New Yorker. All that’s missing are the hair shirts, cilices and murderous albino monks — the kind of thing too many secular elites believe about the lives of devout Catholics generally and members of Opus Dei especially.
The winding and often tendentious essay paints Barr as President Trump’s wartime consigliere, out to dish payback to the US intelligence community for launching #RussiaGate — rather than, you know, look into real abuses recognized as such by foreign-intelligence judges and even FBI honcho Christopher Wray.

Laughable. Barr is a Tom Hagen; not up for the fight.
I’d look behind his ears to see if he’s a mutant.
Sounds like an attack by the enemies of the Catholic Church because most Catholics defend the right of preborn children to life.
Last year Ahmari was noted for a long debate with David French about the future of conservatism, and Ahmari was on the "more conservative" side, if you want to put it that way.

I will say this - after I posted that comment - I did go and do a little research into Opus Dei.
I decided it’s a Catholic thing and left it at that.
Well, I guess you only believe what the know-nothing media say.
Somehow I doubt it’s Opus Dei telling Barr to be a lazy, do nothing servant of evil a.k.a. the swamp.

Trump was once again ill advised by GOP operatives who don’t share the president’s desire to reform Washington. Barr is just another tool of the DC establishment.
William Barr was always 100% Bush guy and everyone always knew it. He isn’t surprising anyone.
