The Audio Editor my wife and I use(d) doesn't work on Windows 10, and has also ceased working on Win 7 (possibly due to the final Win 7 updates?) More info. in Body of Comment...
5 of 6 machines fixed now. Even got a bonus with the fix on #5: an EQ that works on this machine. (Haven’t tried the latest fix on #6 yet.) Good info. @ post #100, I think. :-)
Thanks again to all who rendered aid, and I hope you benefitted too!!
You’re like a dog gnawing on a bone.
Hey, Columbo...nicely done.
Audacity It works and its free.
Hahaha!
Actually, I’ve found that sometimes that’s what it takes.
(I wish I could crunch these “bones” as fast as this stray Lab that’s been hanging around here. I keep wondering if he has a little pit bull in his jaws! He doesn’t have a bad temperament otherwise, tho’, other than being a too big overgrown untrained puppy.)
Back OT:
I may be hosed on #6. Drat! It’s a HP 8460p laptop with a SSD - very nice & fast machine. But, going to HP’s support site again, it reports that they have no drivers for it. Huh? I tried both the “auto detection” and manual methods of identifying the machine (basically by it’s model # and serial number).
I’m like, “What the...?! How can HP not have drivers? HP / Compaq made a zillion of them, mainly for business use. This definitely “does not compute”!
I guess I can try reaching an actual human @ HP — IF that’s possible?
I guess you didn’t read though the thread. It turned out the editor was not the problem.
Also... I’m not so sure Audacity would work for recording, say, a webinar, if Windows’ “Stereo Mix” has been disabled by a user or by a Windows update or upgrade. Maybe Audacity has a tool to correct that? Those might be interesting bits of info. (pun intended) for those who use Audacity, or are contemplating doing so. (Yeah, I’m asking someone who uses Audacity to check it out.)
Holy Crap!
I just discovered, Labs are rated at 230 psi bite force. (Pit Bulls are 235 psi.) Granted, other larger dogs go much higher, but, 2.1% less than a pit bull is still impressive! Crunch, crunch, crunch...
(I'm trying figure out how to post an image with text above or below it instead of being to the side when it actually posts. [Preview always looks ok, posting doesn't.] If this messes up, please ignore it!)
AHA! Well, that was easy. Prob. should be added to the HTML Sandbox.
Just add a paragraph break at the end of the text, same as with other HTML.
Now if only I could figure out how to put HTML (say a pic, italics, or paragraph breaks) AND a hot link in a post without killing hot link...
Mics are not cameras. The tape will still vibrate with sounds and pass that onto the mic. Perhaps not as clearly, but sound will get through a piece of tape.
