A 104-year-old US Marine Corps veteran wants people to share some love this Valentines Day.
Maj. Bill White, who served in World War II and was injured in the Battle of Iwo Jima, is asking members of the public to send him cards for the Feb. 14 holiday, KTXL reports.
The California native hopes to add the cards to his scrapbooks, where he keeps a lifetimes worth of memories on bookshelves arranged by year.
Ill save every one of them like Ive been saving little things that have come up until right now and theyll be a personal part of my history, he told the station.
White said he began scrapbooking as a way to keep busy after retiring.
His mementos also include his Purple Heart, which he received after surviving Iwo Jima.
The fact that I even survived is something. There werent too many of us, White told KTXL. When I was wounded, I didnt have any choice in the matter. A grenade blow up about 6 inches from me.

I saw this story yesterday. I’ll probably send him a card, not a valentine. I am privileged to live near Loveland, Colorado. They make a big deal every year about cards postmarked from Loveland.

Valentine on the way. Will place the info in our church bulletin and include the info with his pic in our announcement slides. Both of my parents served in WWII and instilled in us the love of God, Family and Country.
Illinois Congressman Shimkus is once again asking for Valentine’s for Heroes. Our church participates each year and the kids really like making the cards . . .gives another opportunity to talk about the cost of Freedom including the Freedom that comes from believing in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Seems like a FReep.Could be...he would also have to not read the article before posting, post to an article on TV or football and say he doesn't have a TV or watch football, and reply to an AOC article and criticize the poster for posting an AOC article.
