Today’s Cryptogram

Posted on 01/14/2020 5:46:36 AM PST by nikos1121

DYN ALKWNC LFFLIDOCXDJ JLO TIN VNNRXCA XV XC JLOIVNKQ. —LIXVLC VGNDD ETIWNC

You can find this little fun word game, to combat early dementia and senility in us baby boomers, in several daily publications.

The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).

Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated.

PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and any tips you might give the group on how you solve these puzzles as puzzle solvers love to hear how you made out.

You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for today’s Cryptogram.

TOPICS: Chit/Chat
KEYWORDS: brain; cryptogram; puzzle; todayscryptogram
If you're just starting out on these, be patient, as you'll be proficient in no time.

If you need a little help you can copy the cryptogram and paste it to Hal’s Helper below:

You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper.

2019 Cryptogram Solvers Hall of Fame

Over the next few days I will list the names of CG Puzzle Solvers admitted to THE HALL OF FAME

These people are chosen based on their consistency of effort, fun, creative, sometimes goofy and lively commentary, and general enthusiasm as well as showing a certain skill and temerity of purpose in the solving of these CGs.

On February 26th, (The first day of Lent), I will name three Hall of Famers, and a $25 donation to Free Republic will be given in their behalf.

Congratulations to our first entry into the Today's Cryptogram Hall of Fame:

Swordmaker

Swordmaker has been a CG solver since Day 1. He usually posts the answer to the CG privately to me. Occasionally he shares his tips on solving with the group.

About 3 and 1/2 min. Had to trial and error with XV and XC with the first word to find the inside solution.

The same here on the name. Although, it took me 3-4 minutes today.
