My 2620 will not send a fax. Rings fine but will not connect to other end. Any ideas on a fix? Thanks.
HP?...............I think I see the problem................
My old FAX refused to sync with certain other Fax Machines and work just fine with the rest.
It was explained to me that the analog signal had a frequency range that it would accept (link up with) that overlaps with the other FAX ... and if the FAX machines are opposite ends of frequency tolerance ... No Lap No Link
Some places still use faxes for security. Banks, the doctors office, etc.
Not an expert but two questions:
1. was it working before? yes
2. is your telephone system analog or digital? digital
Use a scanner or shoot a pic if whatever you want to scan and email it
Not sure, but I may have detected a trend in your links...
Is this a number youve sent to before? Try one that worked before or check with the recipient to see if they hear your tones. Have them send you a fax if possible.
Could be sending to an efax configured improperly. All tones for send and receive should be in-band.
VoIP networks are configurable for tone treatment as well. Could have something to do with recipients internal phone system.
are you able to receive faxes? have you called your number and see if you can hear the fax noises aka handshake? its actually easier to send faxes than to receive them.
What does your error log say?
no answer
That dudes a high kicker. I’m not sure I ever could
have kicked my foot that high as a youngster.
If the other end won’t pick up, then the problem is likely on the other end.
What’s a fax?
Yeah “no answer” means the problem is the receiving fax. Either you’ve got the wrong number or their machine is not set to auto-answer. Something like that.
Okay. probably not an issue with the phone communication method if it worked before. But it is worth checking with your provider to confirm that it does indeed support “analog” modem faxing. And what is required.
pretty apparent isn’t it...lol
No, it fixes nothing. I have uesd it for years.
We have a FAX machine here at work. I haven’t seen it used in years..................................
It’s what Biden said:
We choose TRUTH OVER FAX!...............
Can it receive a FAX?
I have a hernia but my herniated junk is better {more painful} than HP junk.
HP was once the two letter symbol of quality, I still have an HP 12C Financial calculator that I bought in 1982 or there about, which still works perfectly.
I haven't changed batteries for 5 years and I use it several times a week.
Any old timer that ever understood present value, future value, lease rates, leveraged leases, and how to make money because you knew more about fractional rates of return than the guy you were dealing with, knows that the HP 12 C was/is a great piece of electronic help.
The individual still needs to know what to do with the financial information.
I've met so many "financial advisers" that don't know their ass from a sink hole, that when I watch the TV commercials about, annuities, gold, guaranteed investments...etc. I want to either puke or sh*)t.
When HP was was in the 'quality business' they were great, after the dumb bitch took over, they went straight to mediocre hell, in a 'profit today' hand-basket.
