Covington students sue disgraced former CNN host Reza Aslan

The revenge of Covington high school students continues. Just one day after CNN came to a settlement in their defamation lawsuit with Nick Sandmann, lawyer Robert Barnes announced he was suing Reza Aslan, the disgraced former CNN host, for a minimum of $135,000 in damages.

Reza Aslan’s tweet of January 19, 2019 features an image of Sandmann and poses the question: “Have you ever seen a more punchable face than this kid’s?”

The tweet was widely criticized by people from all over the political spectrum for being an inappropriate incitement to violence and for improperly suggesting that Sandmann and his classmates had been harassing an elderly Native American man—a narrative that was debunked.

According to PJ Media the suit names a variety of public figures including “Ana Navarro, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), Maggie Haberman, and Kathy Griffin.” PJ Media also reports that “According to the lawsuit, the tweet calling Sandmann’s face ‘punchable’ further spread the false narrative that the Covington Catholic boys had aggressively insulted the Native American man, when that was not the case.”

Aslan deleted his tweet earlier today. The Post Millennial reached out to Barnes who said that “Aslan may be a facing a serious six-figure verdict, which could have been even worse had he not deleted his tweet when he did.”

I had hoped Nick Sandmann and family would have pushed trail to a jury vote of right or wrong. A jury had the potential to bankrupt CNN.

Nothing is ever perfect but CNN has to pay through the nose. When they are perceived as a liability some people will be fired.

The process is the punishment.

The only thing a judge can't overrule a jury on, is a finding of not guilty. Even then he can order a new trial on a finding of any sort of juror misconduct. Every other aspect of trial, including civil damages, can be changed by the judge. It is dirt common for a judge to reduce jury-awarded damages.

Reza sure made a name for himself for writing a crappy and fantastical book about Jesus.

Sorry that’s not a winnable lawsuit.

He deleted the tweet TODAY. It's been out there for nearly a YEAR, with people calling him on the tweet on Twitter all the time.

A legal professional told him to delete the tweet.   winking face

Aslan is hung out there to twist in the wind.............

As deterrents go, this is not as blatant as his head on a pike outside the main gate would be ... but it might be effective if it is widely known about.

Hopefully, others will observe his fate and decide to take a different path with their choices and their freedom of speech.

There need to be consequences. Because of their hatred and especially fear of Trump the media have become like wild animals. Sandman was not a public figure and these vile left wing running dogs had no business coming after him like that. Sue them all. The recent CNN settlement shows how vulnerable the media is. Go for their throats.

Maybe. Let a jury decide. A jury of parents like Sandman’s.

They all should have been fired a long time ago. Comes from the top and like a septic tank flows all the way down. It is their company culture.

Zucker is a zealot and doesn’t care about the truth or the business... for now; until they start losing money.

Maybe, maybe not.

BUT, the kid and his team already have the cnn cash, so the dweb that posted the tweet, has to get a lawyer, and he'll be lucky to get away for less than a 100 grand in legal fees.

The kids team is working for a percentage, so it's no skin off of his nose.

Either way, the kids have all the money they need and the exposure of CNN LIES is priceless. I love and applaud what they do whether they can win or not.
