Biden Calls for Plastic Bag Ban: "We should not be allowing plastic."
Americans for Tax Reform ^ | 1/8/2020 | Adam Sabes

Joe Biden said he “100 percent” supports a national ban on plastic bags.

Here’s the key exchange:

Voter at town hall: “When I go back to Kenya, we don’t even use plastic bags or plastic papers. It’s not allowed, because we are trying to clean the ocean. And I think here in America, we are not trying to do that, to support the environment. And so, what’s your view? I mean, what’s your focus? Because in Kenya, we are trying to clean the environment. No plastic bags, you go with your own bags.”

Biden: “Well I agree with you 100 percent. We should not be allowing plastic. And what we should do is phasing it out.”

I recycle my plastic grocery bags, mostly to line small wastebaskets. If I didn’t use those, I would be using bags I would have to buy at the grocery store.

My bags end up in the landfill and they occupy a minimal amount of space compared to what’s in them.

I also keep some in the back of my car in case I ever need them in a pinch. I occasionally do (think Aldi’s)

A few months ago, Kroger announced they would be no longer be providing plastic bags. If they think I’m going to buy unsanitary reusable cloth bags, the can ESAD. I’ll take my business elsewhere.

Actually I’ll likely have saved enough plastic bags to last me until I die.

Counties near me have banned plastic bags the first of this year; it’s back to paper bags again so now environmentalists will have something to yell about turning trees into grocery bags like they did before. Oh, and they’re a nickle a piece.

It's pathetic watching these clowns struggle for an issue--any issue--that might have traction. And note tagline.

The Democrat Freakshow has deteriorated (who'd have thought it could get any worse?) into a pitiful clownshow.

I don’t want to be forced, but I use my own bag. I use as little utilities as possible. I often walk to the market. AndI fly coach. I take care of the environment more than these ahole leftists.

Gawd, I hate all this ban the plastic bull sh!t.

They found microplastics in antarctic ice core samples. That tells me that all this hoopla about microplastics in the ocean is just because they recently figured out how to measure it and now the normal alarmists have another item to raise a fuss about.

As for plastic bags. They decompose. They’re designed to decompose. 15 years ago the dems forced legislation to add starch to single use bags so they would break down. This is the reason that those bags with stuff stored in them in your attic or basement don’t hold up and split and tear after a year or two.

“When I go back to Kenya, we don’t even use plastic bags or plastic papers. It’s not allowed, because we are trying to clean the ocean."

Shocking report reveals that 95% of river-borne plastic polluting the world's oceans comes from just TEN rivers in Asia and Africa

What will the people who come to food shelves do for packing their groceries? Our local Food Shelf utilizes a lot of recycled plastic bags which people donate for that purpose.

I have read that using the cloth bags can sometimes be a problem when they are soiled by meat or vegetable juices and become a source of bacterial contamination/food poisoning.
