Joe Biden said he 100 percent supports a national ban on plastic bags.
Heres the key exchange:
Voter at town hall: When I go back to Kenya, we dont even use plastic bags or plastic papers. Its not allowed, because we are trying to clean the ocean. And I think here in America, we are not trying to do that, to support the environment. And so, whats your view? I mean, whats your focus? Because in Kenya, we are trying to clean the environment. No plastic bags, you go with your own bags.
Biden: Well I agree with you 100 percent. We should not be allowing plastic. And what we should do is phasing it out.

so am I... lol... but in all seriousness, single use plastic is rather not necessary in the abundance the world uses it...
Here in Phoenix if you put your garbage in the trash can without first putting it into a plastic bag the Garbage Police come to get you.
Or I could just get out my tactical 12 gauge and blast the damn thing into confetti. Shotgun shells. Another big consumer single-use plastic. But only the ducks notice that. As the last thing they notice. *BOOM* 🦆
Evidence of what? Where is the cruise ship in this picture?
Where is this? It looks to me like, maybe Thailand? Not many cruise ships there.
If Carnival, or ANY cruise line (I go on Royal) is caught dumping garbage in the ocean, they should receive a fine so large it puts them out of business. There’s just NO NEED. Most ships are in port every few days... or, at least back in base port in 7-10 days. They can very cheaply dispose of compacted waste in a responsible manner.
It’s so ironic. All of my neighbors, who PAID EXTRA for the privilege of having the city pickup their recycled waste, were the ones who had that waste shipped to China, then DUMPED into the ocean.
I put mine, at no extra charge, in the ‘regular’ waster, where it went to monitored landfills.
WHO?? Made the more environmentally friendly choice?
Styrofoam is one of the most misunderstood plastics in the world. It is TOTALLY inert. It is NO THREAT to any man or beast. It's only crime is: It doesn't completely decompose to the molecular level for thousands of years.
When you put it in a landfill, it STAYS where you put it, for a million freaking years. That's exactly what we want it to do. Meanwhile, newspaper ink, for example, RUNS OUT with any underground water source...as do many other landfilled chemicals.
Styrofoam is the safest of all. ALSO, one of the easiest to recycle. And, it's one of the BEST materials Man has every invented. It keeps HOT things HOT, and COLD things COLD... and, doesn't "sweat" all over your stuff. It's awesome.
I STOPPED going to MacDonald's when they stopped serving drinks in Styrofoam.
I hear you. Makes great wall/ceiling/backed acoustic insulation, as well. The stuff is like the mac & cheese of plastics. LOL
Too bad he passed away at age 45.
He had Gastric Bypass Surgery but I guess it was too little too late.
His routine about the white guy at the black family reunion is epic.
Carnival fined:
The photo I posted showed plastic floating near the shore. Where do you think all that plastic came from—people tossing their fast food waste off the boat? This is obviously what a Thailand plastic recycle processor does when they can’t handle the plastic piling up at their operation. They sneak a boat out into the harbor at night and dump their excess plastic over the side.
Do you know what a typical cruise ship accumulates in garbage per day? One ton of solid waste garbage.
> All of my neighbors, who PAID EXTRA for the privilege of having the city pickup their recycled waste...
My fair city decided, without a vote from it’s citizens, to add an extra charge to our property taxes for recyclable pickup. The same city then PAYS the company who does the regular garbage company something in the neighborhood of $150k to handle the recyclables WE already paid for.
THAT's how you get their attention.
Do you know how many tons of garbage a typical cruise ship can store onboard while waiting for a port to arrange disposal? It's PLENTY enough to not have a need for ocean dumping. No excuses. Regulators should throw the book at them.
As for Thailand, that's precisely the point I made earlier. The solution for illegal dumping is to find and punish the people doing it. The answer is NOT banning single use plastic across the globe.
your words are exactly my thinking. However, even better is to do our own plastic processing here where regulations will be followed. This plastic also comes from European countries. When China started the ban on plastic processing, there was a scramble to find countries that would take their plastic. A flood of that plastic ended up in the ocean. Maybe European countries should have started their own plastic processing.
In the meantime, I hope someone figures out a way to get those composite decking boards down in price so I can afford them.
Does Hunter keep his dope in plastic bags? Because, y'know, hardest hit...
Here’s what we know: Joe Biden hasn’t taken out his own garbage in decades... and his worthless sons haven’t either.
