Long anticipated, the Colt Python relaunch has finally come and looks well worth the wait.

How Has The 2020 Version Of The Colt Python Been Enhanced:
•More consistent trigger pull shot to shot
•Stronger stainless steel construction
•Beefed-up frame above the cylinder
•Hex-screw attached user-replaceable front sight
•Recessed target crown on a one-piece barrel

The price is right compared to an original, but it ain't cheap.

This is the same company who just said civilians can’t be trusted with the AR-15 family of weapons and stopped sales of them. They’re also making noises like they don’t really want to sell any modern weapons to civilians.

Their Colt Cobra that they came out with/relaunched a couple of years ago was kind of crap, too. Felt cheap, not very well finished, reports of MIM part failures...

I bought a six inch blued Python with a Bianchi shoulder holster in the ‘80s for $500.
Sold it in the ‘80s for $500.

One of only four guns I’ve ever sold and the biggest regret of the four.
It felt like it did the aiming for me. Never been as accurate with any other revolver or pistol.

I’m fortunate enough to own an original Nickel plated 4” model. I won’t part with it until the day I’m planted 6 feet under. That being said this is a fine looking pistol.

If it shoots as well as an original $1,500 is cheap.

I read somewhere that a SS Python was going for $6000. What was the price new? IIRC, they were $500ish in the mid 80s.

I you’re in Vegas for this year’s Shot Show you can get your hands on one, if you can get in. They’ll probably show it off there this year. All the new releases from all the industry folks will be on display. They have limits on who can attend. I went to the show 2012. It’s huge. I walked my azz off for 3 days.

It’s a terrible thing to part with a gun.
I regret them all, but that Python was beautiful in body and spirit.
It never did me any wrong. Makes me feel disloyal and dirty. :`(
