ROFL!!
Poor guy couldn’t catch a break!
He tried to build something to protect the family. That’s noble.
But 100 years is a long time.
You guys would have slowed down by then :)
The stew lol
That’s a cute, heartwarming story for Reader’s Digest :)
Not really.
They generally railed against the phenomena, called it impossible and said I was “being difficult”.
:D
[I’ve thought about getting my genetic profile done but maybe it would scare me]
One day, when I was 9 or so, I thought it would be a great idea to cut a chunk of pretty iron ore slag in half with a steak knife.
Knife slipped [surprise!] and cut that web of meat between my thumb and forefinger clear down to the joint.
My mom nearly fainted from the blood.
The lines on my left hand line up just as perfectly as though it had never happened.
No idea how or why.
It just is.
I’ve had two tetanus shots, though.
Just to be on the safe side.
Aagh!
Now I gotta pay DirecTV to watch it!!!
Several years ago we were coming back from Cumberland and there were trucks hauling tanks.
They’d pass us going down the mountain and we’d pass them, going up.
This went on and on until one particular mountain.
There, they just vanished.
[I know where they went but it’s not on official lists]
Those darn “wildlife management areas” hide a lot of things.
I loved that man dearly.
He always tried to out-stubborn me but he raised me well.
He knew I’d stay with the dogs rather than leave without them.
Part of him admired that, because loyalty was a really big deal to him.
I miss him more than words can say.
It was probably a good plan against tornadoes. Single story, flat-roofed cinder block structure. I’m sure they did post-mortems on similar buildings and found there was a safe spot near the walls. Nukes? Probably not so much. I wouldn’t think there was much to nuke in Fort Scott, Kansas, but the map above shows a cluster in nearby areas of Missouri.
Oddly enough, another Cumberland story.
They had a real tornado up there once and all the new homes were smashed flat.
The news rats were up there interviewing people and an old man in a rundown log house that was surrounded by all the McMansions came walking out and sorta said “Don’t build ‘em like they used to” and went back inside.
I live in an 18th century log house so I’m...hopeful.
:D
I wonder if that will be article of impeachment number 4? Number 3 being, offing the Iranian terrorist?
Haven’t seen any of this stuff since Reagan. What happened?
Im with you. My dogs and me survive or not. My dad knew it too. Truth is I think he like them too. Im still set that way. One goes, we all go.
You are my kinda people!
[my dad was secretly scared of my Dobes]
Nice map. I’m golden. I’ll be one of the last to die, yippee.
Stop Drop and Roll, you’ll be fine-
Never been scared of a dog in my life. Turned 20 learned nukes not scared of them. Grizzlies are something if you push them, then women and the police. They all can be scary. Women that get close are the scariest, unless your with them. End of the world? Dont mean shit l. Momma happy, Yellowstone stable, my dogs fine. Lifes good. God is the Man. Ill live till I dont.
We spent $50 billion on foreign aid in 2016. That’d go a long way toward building an adequate national shelter system.
America first!
Cool.
You get to fight the zombie mutants!
:D
He was jittery about my Dobes and terrified of snakes.
Just imagine if I’d showed up with the dogs and a bunch of Boas.
:D
It was a blessing that thing collapsed.
Saved my dad a lot of stress.
There wouldn’t be many Democrats after a nuclear exchange.
The can opener is a P-38. There are a bunch scattered around in my basement gear.

Has the danger gone down since USA took out that Iranian general a few days ago?
