‘We Refuse to Be Silenced’: Harvey Weinstein’s Accusers Speak Out on Eve of New York Trial (starts Monday)
LA Times via KTLA ^ | 1/03/20

With Harvey Weinstein’s criminal trial slated to begin within days, two dozen of his accusers have issued a statement about the disgraced movie producer, signaling their intentions to continue to speak out.

“Next week, the world will be watching as Harvey Weinstein walks into court to stand trial for a fraction of the egregious crimes he has committed,” said the Silence Breakers, a group comprised of many of his accusers, in a statement Friday. ”Weinstein is a serial predator who sexually abused women for decades, taking advantage of his power and connections to systematically silence the women who could bring his crimes to light.

“More than two years ago - thanks to the courage of so many women who risked everything to come forward - this ugly façade came down and he finally faced a public and professional reckoning for his actions. This trial is critical to show that predators everywhere will be held accountable and that speaking up can bring about real change. We refuse to be silenced and will continue to speak out until this unrepentant abuser is brought to justice.”

Now if he had abused boys, no one would be saying a word.

Wasted time, accusers.
Weinstein is a liberal, protected by the swamp (next least intelligent) and Hollywood (the least intelligent group of people) in the multiverse.

If they can get enough illegals in here to permanently swing the next election - kiss your little free butts bye bye.

It took 4 decades for what he did to women to be brought to light.

And it was FAR from a secret.

Yep. Funny how there was no outcry as long as Weinstein was handing out movie roles. When someone didn’t get “payment” the outrage began to build. When his usefulness was diminished or gone, suddenly people uncovered their repressed memories and decided their payment was inappropriate.

Not saying the guy wasn’t a reprobate, but it’s funny how this went on for years and there was no national # me to movement. And don’t even get me going on where these high-minded people where during the Clinton era with reporters offering to give Clinton sexual favors in return for abortion policy.

Pfffft...

That’s right. That would be Nina Burleigh. Can’t remember if she worked for Time magazine or the NYT. It was one of the two.

I thought he was “a god”, or was it simply, “god”? Isn’t that what the Hollywood sewer-dwellers told us?

There is little doubt that Weinstein used his position and power to extract sexual favors from these women. No doubt the nerdy kid in high school who the good looking girls wouldn’t look at suddenly had access to some of the world’s most beautiful women. But rape? It takes two to tango. These women knew what they were doing and knew what they would be getting. The ladies may not want to admit it and may now be ashamed but it was the oldest form of quid pro quo.

This despicable animal may or may not have actually raped. He just put a help wanted sign out and bought a sturdy casting couch and he was in business. Star struck whores filled his needs. Those who didn’t get the job (Or had buyers remorse) cried rape. Like I already said....he may have actually raped, too.

took them long enough ( some decades ) to finally decide to “refuse to be silenced”. many were opportunists during the alleged happenings (got what they wanted by allowing it to happen and keeping silent) and even the more now opportunists.

I reserve my sympathies for girls and boys abused who were not seeking status or anything for themselves. that is tragic, these hollywood folks just made stupid choices and now act as victims.

They are adults, get some mouthwash and move along. It’s amazing how many victims found there innocent way to Weinsteins place.

The conviction will not be based on the loudness of protesters out side, but rather upon the weight of the evidence presented in the court room

When you go to a motel, hotel, private conference room...you might just have an inkling and it doesn’t include rape. YOU set the stage....not the male.

Just a comment: Weinstein showing up for court with the aid of a ‘walker’ reminds me of every bad Mafia movie I ever saw where the Don ends up in court sporting an oxygen mask. Uncle Jun... meet Uncle Harvey!

Better yet....the “Oddfather” Vincent Gigante. He wandered the streets of Greenwich Village in his bathrobe and slippers, mumbling incoherently to himself.
In 1990 he was indicted on federal racketeering charges but was deemed mentally unfit to stand trial.
He was charged again in 1997 and convicted when the prosecution had pictures of him well dressed visiting his mistress. They also had audio recordings of him speaking and making perfect sense.
