Philadelphia’s new police commissioner is aware of what she represents in being the first black woman named to head the force.
But she said she was also the first black woman to do the last job she held, and for a long time, “it was a distraction.”
“I’ve been a black woman all my life, and I’ve chosen the career of law enforcement," said Danielle Outlaw, the Portland, Ore., police chief named Monday to lead the Philadelphia Police Department. She added: “I do not take lightly the fact that I am the first here … I understand who opened doors for me to be in this position, and I understand it’s also my obligation to help people [come up] behind me to ensure we’re not in 2020 still talking about firsts.”

Dies this person has a record, you know, job performance stats?
I guess you haven’t read much up to this point in this thread. Did you notice she held high office in the Portland PD? Did you heard what she reportedly said about the social significance of her race and gender? Do you follow the news enough to figure any of this out?
Went back and read the whole pean to this affirmitive action hire and there isn’t a word about any good shes done anywhere. Good luck Philly. Your top cop is someone who’s never had to be any damn good at anything.
I have no idea about her background. She has the things to protect her from the left (color, sex, etc.) but I’m hoping that she may be one of these people who is realistic about the problems.
I live in Jacksonville, FL - which has a very low crime rate except for some areas that one year gave it the highest murder rate in the country. And it was all black kids shooting black kids. The people in that neighborhood have an organization, very tragic in my mind, “the parents of murdered children.” They have engravings on a wall of the names of these kids.
But the sad thing is that they were all killed by other kids or young adult males, that is, their neighbors, including some whose names are probably on the wall.
That has got to be dealt with. Maybe she can do it, I only hope so.
With the way ANTIFA got away with so much BS in Portland, I think she’s already shown what she is...
