BP boss reveals some of his daughter's friends in California are taking antidepressants because they are so worried about climate change

The outgoing boss of BP has revealed some of his daughter's friends in California are on antidepressants because of their worries over climate change.

Bob Dudley, who is to step down as chief executive in February, admitted he hated seeing 'young people so unhappy, so anxious' about the impact of global warming from increasing carbon emissions.

Mr Dudley added that he hated seeing young people so anxious, and that his daughter told him people around her are on antidepressants.

Despite investing green energies, such as biofuels and solar power, BP has been criticised for putting only 3 percent of its annual spending budget into renewables.

My children and grandchildren all see this nonsense for exactly what it is, even the Californians.

"Do you know what they are teaching us? That humans are killing the oceans and destroying the planet and we're all going to die from global warming. That's all they talk about."

Are you saying that your children and grandchildren are immune to this brainwashing because they are intelligent and others are not because they are not as intelligent as your children and grandchildren?

There are many factors that might serve as resistors to brainwashing.

Resistance to brainwashing is a function of weakness/strength of identity, propensity for guilt and self-doubt, weakness/strength of faith in a higher power.

Intelligence, per se, (i.e., the ability to acquire and apply knowledge and skills) is not.

Now, all that said, there are different kinds of intelligence. Perhaps you are defining intelligence differently.

The reality is that the girl has never had a real worry in her life. She can work as a social worker which pays WalMart wages because her dad will leave her plenty. She never had to pay a nickel for college and partied somewhere far off every spring break, daddy bought her a nice car and fixed it when it broke, put money in her account when it was overdrawn, she never learned to deal with real stress, so now she turns to antidepressants. She’s still like a 2 year old baby, that’s all it is.

Nice digs she grew up in. Guarantee daddy is helping her with a generous check from his BP earnings each month to keep her living status up to her standards.

"If they REALLY believe that nonsense", they would walk everywhere. Stop making extra trips to Starbucks to get their one use cups and lids. They wouldn't have their meals delivered in all that plastic. They wouldn't feel the need to buy a new plastic phone every time a new model comes out. They wouldn't have boutique sized closets with 200 pairs of Shoe Dazzle shoes and clothes they'll never live long enough to wear. They'd turn off the utilities rather than letting them run 365 when they're only there maybe 50 days a year like my neighbors.
