I was a teenager for most of the 70's and I do remember that nonsense. Back then I never really believed them.

Remember in the 70s we were (supposedly) getting ready for the oncoming ‘Ice Age’.

I also recall sitting around as the FICA withholding went up and we were nursing our beers while bemoaning the fact that while we were in our 30s paying into SocSec, we damn sure would never see a penny of it....
