Did you end up going out to your friends last night?
I was in bed early reading but got up at around 11:30 to welcome in the New Year our time.
Lots of pets were hiding from all the noise, I’m sure, fireworks and as hubby said “That’s not fireworks but gun shots!”
People do that up here.
Then couldn’t get back to sleep so I watched videos of the New Year all over the world and caught up on the thread.
Finally, went back to bed and slept a couple more hours.

We normally have gunshots also, but last night was quiet. Only stayed at the friend’s house till about 10, then we wished each other Happy New Years and went home to go to bed. I was tired but somehow I got distracted and stayed up anyway.
I forgot to soak my black eyed peas last night so I’m doing a quick soak now. Wish I could find the recipe I used a few years ago, they were actually good. Normally they’re pretty bland. If anyone has a recipe to share, I’d appreciate it!
