The winter is a rough time for stray animals, many of them die from the freezing temperatures. Thankfully, an animal lover is saving the furry creatures by providing them with a warm place to sleep.
A man named Philip Rogich (also known as the Batman of Ogden), based in Ogden, Utah is building shelters from upcycled coolers for stray and feral cats to sleep during the cold season. He was inspired by a man on Facebook making these cooler shelters, and he decided to try making them too. Then he posted on Facebook asking people to give up their discarded or unwanted coolers, and it took off. Rogich has already made 77 cooler shelters and has enough coolers to make 15 more.

That’s why America needs a wall around New York.
Had a "notched ear" feral move in and stayed in our yard for five years - "Frankie" would yowl when he caught a mouse until I came out and took a look at it. He never let us get close to him, but loved it when we talked softly to him.
He died somewhere last year - a stray lives a very hard life.
At least we were able to take the edge off for him. I miss that little guy.
Just “salt” the area with a bunch of empty cardboard boxes. Cats love boxes. Then replace them with the coolers. Pretty simple.
My cats love it when we come back from Costco. They climb into them in less than 30 seconds.
They have Grumpy cat’s mouth. Now we know why he is not on the tube so much!
Love it!
It's refreshing.
But then, you still have Bernie Sanders;(
...and Ben & Jerry’s; and more than a few Representatives, [state & national] that need to be sent packing.
For the moment, Vermont does not require the registration of firearms. But the camel’s nose keeps poking itself, under the tent. We try to be watchful of the antis and legislation they try to get thru.
Granny Claire's favorite hellion.
Takes time and patience but it is doable. My big tomcat feral took five years of coaxing, from birth, to stretched across my lap with his head on my shoulder as I type this. And he likes belly rubs.
:-)
I wish everyone on the KPL a very Blessed Christmas/Holiday season and a very Blessed 2020.
A feral mother cat brought her male kitten to our deck. We have lost cats to coyotes and didn’t want another. But he wormed his way into our hearts and we took him to the Vet and got him fixed and various shots. He spends most of the day outside and comes in every night. He faithfully uses the liter box. He is affectionate to my wife and me but will let no other human come near him We have had him for 3-1/2 years and I have never found a flea on him. He is the purrfect cat.
