Todays Cryptogram
From today's Arkansas Gazette, we have another little doozy. Go with your instincts as there are several little clues in the CG. 4 minutes or less is excellent, under 150 seconds is fantastic and gives you a gold star.
JDX LXEUXX HZ UXVGHSVONOCOJK KHA JWRX ZHU KHAU COZX LXJXUTOSXV DHM TAPD PDWSEX KHA PWS PUXWJX OS OJ.PXCXVJOSX PDAW.
You can find this little fun word game, to combat early dementia and senility in us baby boomers, in several daily publications.
The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).
Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated.
PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and any tips you might give the group on how you solve these puzzles as puzzle solvers love to hear how you made out.
You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for todays Cryptogram.
If you need a little help you can copy the cryptogram and paste it to Hals Helper below:
You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper.
Solution to our last puzzle:
OVERCOME THE NOTION THAT YOU MUST BE REGULAR. IT ROBS YOU OF THE CHANCE TO BE EXTRAORDINARY. UTA HAGEN
Yet another author I’m not familiar with.
I need to get out more.
I admit I cant make the connection, so your clue must be as tangential as some of mine. :)
ping me please!! I love these
Several good clues in this one, including words 5 and 8.
8 min in car while my wife drove.
Many fat fingers.
Used my go to word as the first one, filled the last one as a tester which gave me a clue for the tenth words. This opened the fourth word. After that, all is history.
Funny how at first the CG looks unsolvable...and then like a rolling stone, it’s solved.
I sure will!!!
Hint: It’s the name of a famous American Folk Tune, that gives you a clue about the author of the CG. And yes, it’s as tangential as some of yours.
Yes 5 and 8, once you know it’s not “THE” and “THEY” sets you up for #7 which gives you #3.
Number 2 kinda stumps you at first, until you go with your gut on the “U” and that gives your #1 and then it’s off to the Kentucky Derby beating your fingers in the Home Stretch to the Finish Line!!
Please ping me with these..
Nailed the fourth word and it fell together.
Does not usually happen that way for me.
