Good God! I wonder if there's any bodycam video of the incident. Sounds as if she had good reason to be in fear with *anyone* storming into her place. Unless there's something important that I'm missing here I'd vote “not guilty” on all charges.

So, let me get this right, the cops sneak into her house ans surprise her while she is asleep in her bed and then shoot her when she draws a gun to protect herself from unknown people she has had zero time to identify?
If I were her, I would be suing the ex and the police force for about a billion bucks.

Cops breaking and entering is still .... breaking and entering.

That’s a very disappointing story. So any a-hole with a vendetta against a person just hast to say the right grouping of words boy are you screwed.
These cops have absolutely no reservations about infringing on your life, your home, on any kind of hearsay.
A potential execution without any kind of due process. These so called police veterans have no sense of skepticism? I bet if that lady were a prominent political figure or a known trial attorney that entry would never have happened.

“Next month, Sapp goes on trial, charged with three counts of attempted murder of a law enforcement officer and three counts of aggravated assault of a police officer, because during that well-being check, police said she pulled a gun on them.”
And the police? Nada. Doubtless, the department investigated themselves and found nothing wrong.

Just getting it straight so I can tell others. Cops break into some woman’s house in the middle of the night without knocking in order to make sure she is okay. They sneak into her bedroom, pull the blankets off and start shouting orders. In the confusion, she pulls her gun and they shoot her. Now she has the possibility for life in prison.
Wellness check resulting in the shooting of the one they wanted to keep well and then she goes to prison for life. I’m glad the police kept her wellness in mind.
Well, I guess that is where we are today.
