Todays Cryptogram
IVOH VQ ZPFJIU TYPJ TH XPLH VJ PKS ZPFJIU TYPJ VJ VQ XPSH WU JYH OFVHKSQ TH BYNNQH. JHKKHQQHH TVIIVPXQ
You can find this little fun word game, to combat early dementia and senility in us baby boomers, in several daily publications.
The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).
Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated.
PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and any tips you might give the group on how you solve these puzzles as puzzle solvers love to hear how you made out.
You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for todays Cryptogram.
If you need a little help you can copy the cryptogram and paste it to Hals Helper below:
You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper.
Solution to our last puzzle:
ALL HUMAN ACTIONS HAVE ONE OR MORE OF THESE SEVEN CAUSES: CHANCE, NATURE, COMPULSION, HABIT, REASON, PASSION, AND DESIRE. ARISTOTLE
Got it. The author did it for me.
Double letters in the name are unique.
WOW!!!
1 minute!!!!
I’m super shocked!
Looked at author’s first name and thought it must be some crazy current name. Looked over the words and picked the fifteenth to be my go-to word. I chose correctly. It opened the author’s name pronto. Chuckled at the name considering my initial thought about it.
FUN!
Me too.
Somehow I figured out the last name immediately, and the rest went very quickly. Good one!
The name was a dead giveaway for me. A combination of my maiden name and home! Just took a minute!
Yeah, 1 minute. It was the first name, Chumley.
A sentiment similar to one recently posted here as well, IIRC.
