Lowndes County Sheriff John Williams was fatally shot when he approached a truck because the music was loud, and he was asking an occupant of the pickup to turn it down, according to law enforcement and an eyewitness.
About 8:15 p.m. Saturday, Williams was shot at the QV convenience store near the Lowndes County Courthouse on the downtown square in Hayneville. Law enforcement apprehended the suspect William Chase Johnson, 18, after a nearly four-hour search when he walked up to the shooting scene about 12:05 a.m. Sunday with a firearm in his hand and was taken into custody after the manhunt.
Johnson has been charged with murder, according to Elmore jail records. No bond has been set.

Plant City, Florida had there share of them when I was there. You could hear them for five miles and it would shake the house when they drove by.

Was the gun the murder weapon?

He has demonstrated that he does not value human life.
Strap him to a table and stick a needle in his arm ... tie him to a post and let him take a .308 to the heart .... put a noose around his neck and hang from a lamppost .... toss him into pool full of alligators .... or into a shark frenzy .... lower him in a vat of acid ..........whatever your flavor is, don’t care. Do it tomorrow.

Last year I was standing outside my parked car at the Berkeley Pier on a Saturday afternoon. Suddenly an old Dodge van drove up and parked a few spaces from me. Then the driver opened all the van’s windows and cranked the radio full volume. He blasted Mexican pop music and everyone in the park was upset their nice afternoon was destroyed. Yeah, I was angry and wanted to walk over and demand that he cool it. No, I was prudent, looked around at other Berkeleyites, saw them looking at me and did nothing. The van driver was advertising drugs, probably dangerous and definitely should not be in our country. Bottom line: Think twice before approaching someone with super loud music in a vehicle.
Tell me about it. When I drive I-10 in the Panhandle, I feel like I’m taking my life in my own hands.

In the 1960’s I lived in the Atlanta area, and the Atlanta newspaper (Atlanta Journal and Constitution?) had a long article about the Valdosta High School(Lowndes County, Georgia) football program. The article said the locals would scout all over creation for middle school age sure fire future studs.
When they figured out who they wanted to target, a delegation of locals would go to the family of the stud, and find out what kinds of work the daddy could do. Next, somebody in the Valdosta area would come up with a job offer. Then, they would negotiate a “how much would it take” salary amount with the family. Then, before the next school year began a caravan of good ole boys with pickup trucks would head out to move the family to their new home (locals would get together and come up with a house).
The old coach (Wright Bazemore??) was a legend in Georgia, and won a number of State (Georgia)and National high school football championship titles.
That kid is Schiffed up beyond all recognition.
There are a lot of trailer trash as well as entitled kids who do this ridiculous Carolina Squat crap to their trucks.
My neighbor’s kid did that to his Tahoe (complete with the loud exhaust, loud music, etc) and one day he was out working on it, I laughed and asked if he sat down to piss like his truck did? He didn’t like that too much LOL.
He’s gonna have 5 or more Dates a Day while he waits for final judgement day.
They may as well hand him a 5 gallon bucket of Vaseline as he comes through the door.
My nephew has a 4x4 F-350 with all kinds of toys on it. Also sports a mullet. Dumbass thinks that he can go to work after high school and support his truck habit. Joke will be on him. And he does want to raise the front end to make it look “bad ass”.
but he did not kill the deputy...
I-10 does not go through the Panhandles of Texas or Oklahoma.
