I’m siding with soup here. I believe in punishment, but the Constitution guarantees no ‘cruel and unusual’ punishment. Certainly anal rape is cruel, if (sadly) not unusual?

Laz, prison rape in Alabama is an everyday occurrence. It doesn’t need an islamic code. They’ve been trying to deal with the hellish conditions in LA and AL prisons for some time now. But I hope this little boy gets everything coming to him. I’m more an Old Testament type than a New one.

Our Constitution gives us the right to a speedy trial. It also protects us from torture. Personally I think that most of the animals on death row and in some of the prisons who are in for violent crimes should have been summinarily executed one hour after their trials ended.
However that is not how our overmasters see things.
But torturing a soul instead of manning up and executing him, is beyong the pale, and using other prisoners to do the torturing is even worse.
And some people even get laughs over torture.

No, I am not confusing anything.
When people are locked up what happens to them is a function of the government and its bureaucrat functionaries. Torture is sanctioned in our prisons and is carried out by the prisoners, mostly.
And jerks who laugh or joke about it are complicit in this torture.
