A Utah company is recalling two-pound frozen bags of Quest beef cat food sold nationwide over fears it may be contaminated with salmonella.
Salmonella can affect animals eating the products and there is risk to humans from handling contaminated pet products, especially if they have not thoroughly washed their hands after having contact with the products or any surfaces exposed to these products, the US Food and Drug Administration said this week.
The items affected were distributed nationwide through retail stores and are identified with UPC 6-91730-17101-8, Lot N128. No illnesses have been reported. A sample collected tested positive for salmonella, prompting the recall.

Yeah.
And sometimes they die of it.
At the least they can get very sick and cats can throw up twice their own weight when they are sick.

Even if one thinks cats will be just fine (i would get rid of it if i had it for my little buddy), they say humans can also catch it from handling it.

Cats and dogs are not typically affected by salmonella. Silly article.

No. Cats are very fastidious about their food preparation in the wild. That is why they are called “domesticated”.

Gross story alert- Only read if you aren’t squeamish- seriously- this is gross! - I Had a dog once that got loose- came back an hour later- sitting in living room- started retching, i quick ran it out to porch where it threw up a whole deer stomach that some hunter had gutted and left in the woods- How the dog got all that pile of guts down it’s gullet I’ll never know- I had all i could do not to throw up myself as i cleaned it up off the porch!-

And always right on the rug.
Never on the tile or hardwood. Or the cheap rug we got at Ollies. Always on that stinking expensive Oriental rug that his mom picked up in Germany in the fifties.
Which is why the rug now hangs on the wall.

What is the sound of one cat puking?
To: Popman
It’s some sort of interdimensional portal, I think.

Tell that to my cat who left a 1/2 eaten mouse on the deck.

I see you have never owned a cat.
It is something you have to see to understand.
