I tell my kids that American Woman is ok to have some fun with (as long as they’re careful), but when it comes to someone to be SERIOUS with, over the long term - then only people from the ‘Old Country’, where women still RESPECT their still-married parents. Worked out great for me, and so far, so good for them.

I have a photo of two Russian WACS my Father took in Berlin, 1945.
They are not ugly but not pretty either. One is holding a flower. Daddy said they were nice ladies.

My Grandpa was Ukrainian/Russian who went through the Bolshevik Revolution and was friends with everyone in his neighborhood. He was a hoot!
His experiences as a teenager and the revolution, which he talked about often, and my visit to my Grandma’s family in Yugoslavia in the early 80’s shaped my politics forever.
(And becoming addicted to Firing Line and Buckley in middle school helped.)

1945 in a war zone is not going to put a Russian woman to her best advantage for her appearance. It would be good to have a picture from 1947 in civilian clothes.

The only American women that turn my head are the Southern Belles where they’re still raised to be young ladies and NOT trying to be or compete with a man. Fewer and fewer of them however.
