Here is how to tell how old...
Umbilical cord attached ... 5 days
Eyes and ears closed ... 3 weeks.
Weaned... 6 weeks.

Until they are weaned, a kitty requires around the clock feeding and help qith going to the bathroom.
Also they cannot regulate their heat and require an incubator.

I found mine in May here in Phoenix. Keeping it warm was not an issue for me. Just lucky I suppose. I thought of all kinds of names but just call him 'Little Buddy' now.

" it's an auspicious occasion when a little unit of pure life like this drops in our lap."

That's beautifully said.

Depends on how tiny. Found a kitten at the top of my driveway. Dropped off on busy highway. I adopted it. Fed it slightly warmed milk, then a little balongna and chipped beef. Not a cat guy but the little bugger grew on me.

Couldn’t keep it outside as red tailed hawks are picking off the squirrels and a five foot chicken snake around the house would make a snack of it. So it’s an indoor cat now.
It’s my little friend, now.

I hand fed 4 kittens when they were a week or so old. Don’t know what happened to mama cat. All 4 sucked on our earlobes also. Purring & kneading. I know 1 of the kittens never gave the habit up. Even into cathood.

"If the kitten is VERY young (younger than six weeks), she may have behavioral issues.”

That describes my cat.

Nothing dangerous other than she has teething issues.

My girl friend says she was taken away from her mother too early. Likes to bite and scratch when playing. My hands are callous so I let her bite my hands but the back of my hands are getting thinner with each year. I have lots of little scratches from her sharp claws.

Still, I'm attached to the little beggar.

Its’ a very good idea to get cats used to being put in a carrier and riding in cars from the youngest age possible. If you wait too long, most hate being in cars and will howl pitifully all the way.

There may often be times when you have to take the cat to the vet, and if it wasn’t conditioned to riding in the car at a malleable age, it’s really traumatic for them.

How little?

Feed it goat milk from an eye dropper if it can’t eat other things yet.

First thing I thought of when I read: "cat people"

(Few months ago watched the 1982 version followed by the 1942 original. 1982 version had a better soundtrack....)

Just got back from walmart with bottle and kitten milk, it didn’t like the bottle, but the eyedropper worked well, so we’ve just now had a meal & I guess it’s the first feeding in about 3-4 days.
Poor little thing is all bones, it’s eyes are open, and it loves to turn upside down in my arms to be fed.

I now need someone that wants a cat because we are going away for Thanksgiving.
Thanks to everyone for the suggestions/help.

I’m trying to save the life of this little kitty, but need some divine connection to find a family for this kitty. Prayers needed for the pumpkin & white kitten.

Barn cats are cool

We had one when I was a tyke. The best cat, hands down. Smart, sociable, and a superb huntress.

My daughter suggested that you try the “Kitten Lady” channel on you tube.

do a search for local barn cat rescues and give them a call/email. Here’s one to get you started that may help you locate someone near to your location:
