NO!
That is WHY Christ died for us!
If we lose our memory, we stop our repentance and stop seeking God's Grace for His Mercy.

(P)ain and guilt cant be taken away with the wave of a magic wand. Theyre the things we carry with us, the things that make us who we are. If we lose them, we lose ourselves. I dont want my pain taken away! I need my pain!

Your memories, good or bad, make up WHO you are - start erasing them and you become Someone Else, not necessarily a better person.

This was an old episode for the new back-then series for the Twilight Zone in the 80’s..
In the “future”, a machine removes the bad memories and you can BUY someone’s great memories. The punch -line was that the lead character was addicted to other people’s great memories (like a celeb having sex with another hot celeb) and he eventually forgot who he really was..

Pain is often times strong medicine. We don’t have an opportunity to learn things and correct our bad choices otherwise.
