Multiple Defense Department sources confirmed to Newsweek on Monday that the dog's name is Conan. During a Sunday morning press conference to announce the death of Baghdadi, Trump said the dog was injured when the Islamic State leader detonated a suicide vest, killing himself and three children.
Defense Department sources said that Conan, the dog wounded from the special operations Syria raid which resulted in the death of Baghdadi is named after Conan O'Brien the comedian versus the barbarian.

It’s difficult to tell if the dog in the picture has a sheath. Someone at work said they could see a sheath, someone else said there was not a sheath.

It apparently was not a very severe wound as he/she is back in service from what I heard.
He purposefully said the dog's name was classified as an example of the Washington leak culture. sure enough, some nosy mofo ended up finding about the dog's name after all.
That was my thought - kinda embarrassing to have a female dog named after you.
