I had to put my cat to sleep today, he was suffering. What a good boy, I shall miss him. I know he was only a cat, but I sure did love his company. He was an unusual and interesting cat. He worshiped my wife and followed her around as if she were some kind of feline deity, but would deign to spend some time with me as well.
Damn. I sure will miss him.
All our guys are from shelters. Hurts like hell when they go.
Hugs.
Sounds like you had a good one.
We love our animals so much...I had to put down a standard poodle and it was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. Nine years later and I still miss her but I got another dog right away and I love her too but there was a difficult transition for me that was worth it in the longer run.
Beautiful kitty. So sorry for your loss. We’ve had to put down a few cats and dogs. Each one with their own personalities. Hugs.
and my condolences.
Oh my. He looks like my cat; Sweet Pea. Ive had her for well over 10 years. So long in fact I cant remember just how old she is. Just yesterday I called the vet we used to go to when we lived in another part of the state. They dont keep records older than five years, so they were of no help.
Im 61 years old. Ive owned cats all my life. And I know the grief that comes when you lose a sweet furry pet like this.
God bless.
And I got this picture of him drinking my wife's coffee once...
I admit to loving yellow cats above all others-there is something to their personality that makes them...different...:)
“I know he was only a cat”

No such thing as “only a cat” when they become friends with whom we get to share part of our lives. Thank you for the great post.
Sorry for your loss. I’ve been there. Not looking forward for the next one.
love that pic! orange cats are the best. we adopted an adult orange cat that lasted about 14 years after we got him. He was THEE coolest cat. He loved to go to kmart center and trigger all the electronic doors then sache into the store to visit with every single person. He would also jump in people’s cars and not want to get out. We also have a retirement home near our house and every resident knew Norman! He was famous in certain circles!!
What a cutie. I feel your loss.
Sorry for your loss.
We lost our dog in February and my daughter took her two cats from our house to her new place.
So was catless.
as well as chickenless.
Found a little female online, a tabby with black brown and white muted stripes.
Potato.
She is still in the knucklehead stage but she will be coming around. She is intelligent and that is what I like in cats.
I’m sorry for your loss. Putting down a beloved cat is very hard. I pray the Lord will fill the hole in your heart with many kind and warm memories of him.
PS: Nov 4th. is the anniv of my girl being put down. She was fourteen, old for a border collie.
“And he was a conservative, too.”

Furry FReepers make good company.
My lovely wife has always been a cat hater and me the opposite. I had two cats and during the past year or so my wife has drug in two feral cats that love her. So, she has reluctantly become a cat person. Sorry for your loss...I will pass this along to our four so they will know.
