That's when I called Wells Fargo. Verified it's a Phishing Scam. They had Me Forward it to: phish@wellsfargo.com.
Just though I would Post this Warning.
Beware of the scumbags.
I got it too and I’m not a Wells Fargo customer, LOL!
I get garbage emails all the time, bank of america, wells fargo, etc etc all saying I need to check my account..I just delete them..I dont have either one and I dont do online banking
LOL! Yeah, I got one the other day saying if I didn’t send “them” $500 in bitcoin they would post something sordid they supposedly video’d through my computer camera all over my social media(non-existent) and to all my contacts. DELETE!
LOL, quick ID on that one.
This was My first one. Other than the Nigerian stuff.
I get these also, and they have messages such as click to update account t information, confirm password, etc.
But I don’t even have accounts with Wells Fargo or Bank of America, so I know right away it’s fraud.
I also get weird messages from “Amazon” saying thank you for your order on power tools or whatever I dont bother clicking the link because I know its BS especially since they email me on my main email address and that amazon account hasnt been touched in years
Well speak of the devil I just got another email with the same message LOL
Gotta charge the Tablet and feed the Grandson. Be back later.
First off, I would never do business with drug laundering bank...like Wells Fargo.
But the actual sender was Fox News fox.news@sluttybbw.com
I was halfway tempted to click it. But nope. Was at work. My work email address. I knew better.
lolol
At least you were getting a bonus. Three days ago I got a text on my cell phone telling me that my Wells Fargo account was suspended due to fraud.
I have never had an account with a bank in my life. I always have used Credit Unions.
I have also received e-mails from other “banks” shutting my account for fraud and one actually threatened me about referring me to the Federal Investigative Bureau. Whatever that is.
The quickest way to determine if an email is phishing is to hover over one of the links in the email. Your browser will give you the link value, usually in the lower left hand corner of your screen. You’ll see it’s nonsense and has nothing to do with the supposed sender.
Also, do not open any attachments to a phishing email. Surely trouble if you do.
Examples from phishing emails I’ve received recently (address/supposed sender):
