Why conservative pundits and pols are denouncing Trump’s Syria move
Fox News ^ | Oct 18 2019 | y Howard Kurtz

When Lindsey Graham, Donald Trump’s best pal in the Senate, is calling in to “Fox & Friends” to say that his Syrian withdrawal is “shortsighted and irresponsible,” the president has a problem.

Graham, who went from Trump’s bitter campaign to golfing buddy, ripped the “impulsive decision” for having “undone all the gains we’ve made” against ISIS.

What’s more, the South Carolina senator, a foreign policy hawk, didn’t get so much as a heads-up from Trump.

“The Syria decision on its face is indefensible,” Fox News contributor Jonah Goldberg told me. “The way he went about it, if the reporting is accurate, is indefensible. Republicans were looking for something they could criticize him on that didn’t amount to aiding and abetting impeachment.”

The widespread criticism from Republicans and some conservative commentators doesn’t automatically mean the president made the wrong call. He ran against endless wars and had obviously grown tired of having U.S. troops stationed in northern Syria. Much of the public may side with him. But in media and political circles the withdrawal is viewed as abandoning our Kurdish allies, who helped turn the tide against ISIS, to a potential massacre by the Turks, who view them as terrorists.

It’s Trump’s one-man rule—his own Pentagon was blindsided by the announcement—that sometimes alienates his natural allies.

Most Republicans have stood by the president on Russia, on Ukraine, on impeachment. But the Syria decision drew sharp criticism from Nikki Haley, Marco Rubio, Liz Cheney—even Mitch McConnell.

Lots of people with friends in high places (like in DC politics) are profiting mightily from US misadventures in Ukraine and Syria/Iraq. They exploded in fear when President Trump got decisive there. With Afghanistan, President Trump backed down, so they weren’t as desperate. Now, with John Bolton gone (why the *ell was that Master of War appointed by Trump), President Trump can get back to his agenda. So they went crazy, across the political spectrum.

How would you feel if your son was sent there? Is that shit hole country worth his life?

The Kurds are not one homogenous group
some are Christian some are Commies etc. Some stabbed us in the back and brokered crude oil deals with Iran

“I told her Obama and Hillary brought slavery back to Africa when they toppled Libya.”

Another SPIKED story. I read this week that since Hillary took out Khadaffi, 9 Slave Markets opened in Libya.

There are REAL slave markets, not millennials complaining about being paid less than a ‘living wage’, or even Dubai trapping their 3rd World workers for several years at a time. These are the same Slave Markets that existed throughout most of recorded history, where Arabs went to black Africa and literally took slaves for life and bred them like animals, just as we did prior to the Civil War. Those markets were GONE after WW2, but now, thanks to Hillary, they’re back.

“Why did we turn our backs on the Soviet Union after they helped us defeat the Nazis in WWII?”

Because they were commies, and wanted that for the US.

Graham, Rubio, Cheney, Haley, McConnell, etc. — I’d be following money trails from their financial assets back to lobbyists for the industrial war machine. There must be a couple of crack investigators who’d be willing to sink their teeth in to that issue and expose some RINOs.

Let’s be honest. The kurds have always been violent nomads, and you cannot have peace of any sort anywhere and sharia law at the same time.

This is on the same level as having a welfare state at the same time as you have open borders.

1. Rushingwater, you seem to demand we keep our finger in a pot that can never have peace.

2. The Greeks and the Armenians were peaceful. The Kurds have never been peaceful. Why are you determined to libel the Greek and Armenian victims of the Turks by attempting to say they were the same as the Kurds? Thats filthy, its nasty, and you will need to defend that assertion.

Yes I know, and obviously I was referring to the PKK Kurds in particular, as that is who the article was referring to. They are of the communist faction of Kurds.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
That’s all fake for re-election of Graham purposes only.
It’s Graham’s version of the McCain two-step.
It’s amazing that so many people are falling for it.
Grahamnesty is still committed to amnesty and open borders and completing the Bush Plan for North Mexico (aka USA).
You can fight the terrorists here or you can fight them over there.
I think it’s an easy call.
The entire middle east fiasco was started by incompetent boobs in our government like Bush and Cheney and all the rest of those you hold so dear. We got rid of Saddam Hussein who was a tyrant for sure, but he was Iraq’s tyrant. We could have controlled him without removing him and stayed out of the middle east. Besides, those responsible for 911 were Saudis. Bush didn’t go after them because they were Cheney’s pals. This entire middle east mess was started by your government hero’s without a plan, just like Vietnam. So we’ve spent 20 years; thousands of our soldiers lives and limbs and billions of dollars for nothing. Do you not remember what happened after we left Iraq? Trump is doing the right thing getting out. I just hope we can stay out. The US doesn’t need the middle east because we have our own oil and gas, also thanks to Trump. War Mongers like you are all the same. They want to fight wars in which they have no skin in the game and for which they have no real plan. If you engage in war be prepared to use extreme force until the enemy is on their knees begging you to stop; then kick the crap out of them some more. When you’ve destroyed them take everything. Take their land, wealth, everything and don’t give it back until they have made full restitution to our soldiers first and then our tax payers. That’s too much for guys like you. You’d rather talk and talk and criticize. And like your government pals, you don’t have a plan either.
