AURORA, Colorado (CNN) - A Colorado police officer is on administrative leave after shooting an armed man in the buttocks though the window of the man's house, according to the Aurora Police Department.
Police went on the night of October 10 to a home to talk with a suspect in an aggravated physical assault case, according to Aurora Police and a probable cause affidavit obtained by CNN affiliate KDVR.
When the officers arrived, they say they encountered Andrew Huff, 22, standing next to a truck outside. As officers in uniform approached the house, Huff fled indoors. He then looked out a window of a well-lit room as a responding officer waved at him, police said.
"The officer was certain Mr. Huff saw her and recognized her as a Police Officer," police said in a statement.
Officer Alexander Ord shot at Huff, striking him in the buttocks, the affidavit states. Huff did not fire the shotgun and no officers were injured, the affidavit says.
On the way to the hospital, "Huff made several spontaneous utterances to include saying he just saw people (approaching the house), didn't know who they were and got shot," according to the affidavit.
Huff maintains the officers did not identify themselves before firing into his home, his attorney, Birk Baumgartner, told CNN.
"Huff saw someone sneaking through his yard, so he locked the door, retrieved his shotgun, and as he was looking out the window, he saw somebody move in front of the window," Baumgartner said. "He turned to grab his phone to call police and was shot in the back."

Maybe the guy had a massive ass, so his ass was center mass.

Does she get extra points for shooting him in the back AND through a window?
Police officers are REQUIRED to pass a psych eval before they are hired.
According to Dr. Clarissa Cole, who began her career in a state hospital for the criminally insane, moved to the prisons, and currently supervises risk assessments across the state of California, fully HALF of the police/corrections candidates who failed their psych evals were hired anyway.
Did this cop pass? If not who hired her?
This isn’t even the first one in Aurora. Last year, they shot a 73 year old veteran through a window when he was defending himself against an intruder.

The repeat criminal, a naked Dajon Harper, 26, entered the home Richard Gary Black, Jr., for an unknown reason and began to violently attack Gary’s grand- son. Garys stepson, Chad Hayashi was awoken in the middle of the night to find Dajon choking the child and biting the child’s ear in the bathtub.
The Aurora police officer who shot Gary (the Aurora homeowner) was also involved in another recent deadly shooting.. The un-named officer opened fire, killing Richard “Gary” Black, a 73-year old Army veteran who served in Vietnam, earning a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart.
The intruder (twice had charges of first-degree murder dropped or reduced.) had been attending a party at a home on the corner of North Iola Street and East Montview Boulevard before he ran across the five-lane road and onto the Blacks property.. around 1:30 a.m.
Others from the party followed him onto the property and entered the house.
Aurora cops did not warn the homeowner, Richard “Gary” Black, and all the officers spent cartridges were outside the house. So, they shot through the open door ( that the criminal had knocked down to gain entrance to the house ) , Hayashi says, calling for the release of bodycam videos..

Yep, Aurora, CO P.D. seems to have a trigger-happy streak.
They wonder why people don’t like them.
If so then Bobby had better expect a good number of Americans to give him the same treatment!
No such instance as an accidental discharge of a firearm. Negligent discharge perhaps, but never accidental. Firearms do not shoot by accident (unplanned series of actions leading to unintended consequences).
The officer decidedly put her finger on the trigger, pointed the handgun and fired at the person. Nothing accidental about it.
Side note:
Tactics 101- never turn on interior lights when concerned about outside activity at night. Perhaps turn on outside flood lights ( pointing away from the residence to illuminate the yard, drive, out buildings etc).
