A 21-year-old woman surrendered her newborn to a Los Angeles fire station this week, shedding light on the power of Safe Surrender laws.
The baby was taken to a downtown L.A. fire station at about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and found to be in good health, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. The child was then taken to a hospital.
California's Safe Surrender law aims "to save lives of newborn infants at risk of abandonment by encouraging parents or persons with lawful custody to safely surrender the infant within 72 hours of birth, with no questions asked," the fire department said.
"All fire stations both in the City of Los Angeles and the County of Los Angeles are Safe Surrender locations," the department said.

Safe haven or baby moses laws are an abortionist worst nightmare. Surprised PP has not tried to go against these laws.

Thank God the young woman had the sense to surrender the baby. I’m surprised gruesomely Newsom hasn’t charged her with littering, since she did not have the baby killed and dropped it at an LAFD station.

FWIW, even if she is an illegal (and nothing in story suggests that) as the law currently stands, the child born here is an American citizen.
So the mother still would have done the right thing by surrendering the child for adoption by Americans, while subjecting herself to possible deportation.
Did someone say that the baby was born in this country? Is the so-called mother an illegal?

Nowhere does the story say the child WASN’T born in this country.
The story DOES say “newborn” and “Los Angeles fire station” which would suggest the child was born in Los Angeles to most logical readers, other than those who assume everyone in L.A. is an illegal.
Or perhaps those who assume a mother who just gave birth in Mexico would get up and walk several hundred miles to Los Angeles, just to give away her baby.
“So called mother” indeed. Bigot.
