Over at DailyMail, the comments are unpleasant...they blame Trump, they blame undocumented workers, they blame Chinese steel. The photos do show many Hispanic looking men in “Workforce.com” tee shirts. What’s with that?
I think they are wrong.
The video shows the building collapsing not the cranes.

This was to be a hotel/ casino complex.
There was already a Hard Rock music venue around the corner, on Decatur St.
Went once— cheesy faux N.O. decor, terrible acoustics.
Don’t let the building inspectors get across the border.

Look like two elevators collapsed fully or partly. Can’t tell if that instigated the failure.

no third crane evident and no crane parts in the wreckage ... almost guaranteed they were pulling forms before concrete was cured enough ... that’ll pancake things real quick ...
“ It’s a democrat run corrupt city... maybe the building inspectors were paid off... too much sand in the concrete... another payoff... not curing the concrete long enough - incompetence. Lots of reasons for disasters in corrupt democrat cities.”
Do you have reason to believe that the construction company, the architects or engineers were city employees?
There was a huge influx of Latino illegals after Katrina.
They essentially cleaned up & rebuilt the city.
I stood in line for post-Katrina Christmas midnite mass at St. Louis Cathedral, next to a Halliburton contractor.
He said their cleanup contract required hiring locals, which in N.O. meant mostly blacks.
He said the blacks wouldn’t show up to work.
But the Latinos did, in droves.
