British start-up Spacebit. It has sensors that can take measurements and collect exploration data for researchers to analyze.

The robot also comes equipped with cameras — one of which can take “robot selfies” — and can withstand big swings in temperature, from 130 degrees Celsius (266 degrees Fahrenheit) in the day to minus 130 degrees Celsius at night.

It will also eventually be able to navigate through so-called lunar lava tubes, which are tunnels beneath the surface of the moon thought to have once been filled with lava. Spacebit says this is something that hasn’t been achieved before.

The company signed an agreement with U.S. firm Astrobotic to launch its first mission in 2021 on Astrobotic’s Peregrine lunar lander. The American lander will be launched on a Vulcan rocket from a site at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida.

Wish them luck. Better not stumble into the audience chamber, though.

I’m thinking of those ant creatures in that old b&w science fiction movie.

I thought the first British lunar rover would be named Twiggy or Ringo or something.

It's wider than a mile.

But they'll be crossing it in style...some day.

I’m relieved to see it was not made by Lucus. Maybe it has a chance of working.

I HAVE that song on my amazon music!

Me!! A Guns N Roses guy.

Started listening to softer stuff when I turned 50.

51 now.

God knows what i’ll be listening to in 10 years!!

Plus I know that actress, but can’t think of name or connection to the song.

“I’m relieved to see it was not made by Lucus. Maybe it has a chance of working.”

I recently found a 60’s era Lucas Electrics Motorcycle Manual at a yard sale.
It is now framed in my man cave
with the caption “Satanic Bible”

‘66 Triumph Trophy “Desrt Sled” with magneto ignition. Long gone. 300K miles on BMW Boxers since, never stranded.

Check out ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’. It will answer both questions. If you like it, ‘Roman holiday’ is another good one.

Moon River. Came home from Japan in 1961 on a troop ship; one of the last groups before the ships ended. 500 military dependents onboard. We pulled guard duty in that area at night. Music played constantly down there in that berthing area. They really flogged MOON RIVER by Andy Williams. As I recall, Pat Boone’s MOODY RIVER was playing a lot. And Dionne Warwick was just catching fire doing Bert Bacharach songs.

Why go back to the moon? Because ...

“Private companies are hoping to capitalize on the business opportunities presented by space exploration. Morgan Stanley estimates the space economy could be worth more than $1.1 trillion by 2040.”
