She had it removed after experiencing side effects
BALTIMORE A mother learned her 16-year-old daughter received a birth control implant at school after the teen started complaining about headaches and a pain in her arm.
Nicole Lambert sent her daughter to get checked out by a pediatrician. The doctor notified her that the three-year contraceptive, Nexplanon, had been improperly implanted in her daughter's arm and it needed to be removed.
According to paperwork on Merck's website, the maker of Nexplanon, the implant should go on the inside of the upper arm. Photos show Lambert's daughter had the implant near the back of arm. Her doctor advised taking the implant out to avoid possible complications, including blood clots.
"I instantly started crying because just to hear that your child, anything could happen to your child and you didn't even know what's going on, it's a scary feeling," Lambert said.
The tiny tube was removed a few days later.
"I actually went to the school. I was furious. I was mad, so I went to the school and the nurse told me, 'I don't have to talk to you about absolutely nothing.' I'm like that is my child, I take care of this child, you can talk to me about my child, and they put me out of the school," said Lambert.
Birth control dispensed in city schools The state law permitting minors to receive contraceptive services confidentially dates back nearly 50 years. And several of Baltimore City's 17 School-Based Health Centers (SBHC) provide reproductive health care services.

ARTH PING
MARYLAND PING
Imagine that. Space Aliens are invading high schools, abducting kids and putting implants in them. /s
Unbelievable
WTF?
“I actually went to the school. I was furious. I was mad, so I went to the school and the nurse told me, ‘I don’t have to talk to you about absolutely nothing.’
I would have a lawyer within 24 hours. The public school does not have the legal authority of make discretionary medical decisions for my child.
“The health department said the law department advised them not to respond to our questions because of a pending case against the city.”
Just one?! Wake up, people! Sue these morons into oblivion!
this time I searched....this time I used a different source, this time I got a different response “nothing found”
But thank you for telling me this
A nanny state has the mentality that it owns it’s people.
Wrong on many levels. Inserted by a Nurse not a doctor. Was not prescribed by a doctor. Get a lawyer ... and join the Lawfare Schoolhouse Lottery.
***Wrong on many levels****
It appears that this 15/16 year old was being ‘raped’ by someone!!! That should have been reported to her parents and the authorities first!!!.
Abortions performed, at the school, will be the next frontier. Parents be damned.
My wife is skeptical. She doesn’t believe the birth control device could be inserted without the girl’s knowledge. She surmises the girl asked for it to be inserted, but lied about it to her parents about it because she did not them to know.
They already are. The girls are taken out of school, baby is aborted, girl taken back to school and sent home. Parents never know. Been going on for decades.
“..and the nurse told me, ‘I don’t have to talk to you about absolutely nothing.”..
That is some education on that nurse there. I’m thinking no way is this an RN or even an LPN but some sort of health aid worker. So how is this so called nurse allowed to dispense any medication. Now if this is an LPN or RN that school sure picked from the bottom of the barrel.
Unbelievable!
You cant send your kid to school with an aspirin in their pocket
but somebody working at the school thinks this is alright...
Perfect example of where we are at as a society!
School just taking reasonable precautions to minimize risk of teachers knocking up the students
School nurse. Who’s going to put those in next? Jiffy Lube? A home kit?
