Im sure some people thought there was an empty pair of shoes. I had to look twice when I first saw that picture.

The US Navy should go back to dungarees and blue work shirts.

Uniform environment is important.
The desert uniform used during Gulf War I was much better for that environment than what has been used since. It was also a bit cooler in the sun.
Our guys really did stand out in daytime ops for the duration of GWII.

Sorry for that Charlie Foxtrot, Spec! We had an E-4 who got bumped to E-5, and oooooo, we'd get under his skin when we'd answer "Yes, Sargeant!" LOL
To: Redcitizen
Unfair to criticize those uniforms since they obviously were created for urban warfare...

Same here. I saw the hat on the floor. Then glanced up and thought “boots”! Then, whoa, a person!

I didn’t see in the article where any of the uniforms are made at.

lol, you knew how to really yank his chain.
I heard that bit about working for a living by reading about it. Funny, I never actually heard any NCOs say it. I’m sure they thought it though.

I liked the dungarees better too. Now they look like they’re in the Marines.

My ship was docked in the UAE during desert storm. I would have liked to have traded my khakis for janitor gray.

It would be great ... right up until she accuses you of never spending any time at home. :)

Woodland was okay someplace cold, but they were really overly hot in Okinawa or the Philippines.

I did a quick cursory search on the Internet. Did not see any readily available information though I’m sure it’s out there.

The woodland summer uniforms did okay during desert storm for a dry arid environment.
