Today I sent a letter to @MayorAdler about the growing crisis arising from the Austin Homeless policy.

Feces & used needles are piling up & residents are endangered.

If not fixed by Nov.1, I'll use State authority to protect Texans’ health & safety.#txlege

I don’t know why, but I’ll attempt to answer this. On the one hand, yes, they want bennies, but on the other hand, I kind of feel like it’s like pet hoarders.

You know, the ones who are discovered with 125 dogs/cats/whatevers living in their house, covered with pet whiz and feces, and stinking to youknowwhat.

Because they luv their widdle bow-wows and can’t possibly bear to be apart from them, and oh, wait, there’s another one.

Because for every loser bum they enable, that’s another virtue signal point for them, and in the lib insanity game, that’s really all that matters. To heck with everyone else.

In SW Florida...the homeless get pickup by the police...

They go to mental health clinic for ten days....

They have a choice go on the street or to the Salvation Army for

drug treatment...and then job placement...

if it is mental illness they can stay at the clinic

Then the police pick them up and we start over again

I think some move on to another town

Catholic Charities has a have way house once they get jobs

Not good having a lot of homeless around when tourists come to the area

Too bad the State won’t have any punishment planned for Mayor Addled and his People’s Socialist Kakistocracy of Austin City Council... like forcing them to go around and pick up the feces, trash and needles.

Here in Washington state Inslee will never do anything. Restaurants and stores are closing in downtown Seattle due to the homeless crime wave.

One of the Bartell drug stores in downtown just closed as well as a popular spendy restaurant. Macy’s downtown is closing.

I have to work in Seattle but I drive directly to the building parking lot, park, work and never do my feet touch Seattle concrete.

The camps, filth and needles are everywhere. We have a do-nothing lesbo mayor, a loser city attorney and a corrupt city council.

Amazon has advertised all over the world and dragged well-paid workers into Seattle raising the housing prices. Seattle truly is dying.

They’re not letting it go to pot they’re actively promoting it. They put in place absurd edicts to make vagrants comfortable in their crimes and filth while vilifying the ones paying their salaries.

I mean, how can a Mayor, duly elected by the people and responsible for their tax dollars, can just sit there and let their city go to pot?

Yep, I live in SW Washington and it hasn’t reached that point yet but there are areas that need cleaning up before it’s completely out of hand.

It won’t be long before the liberals will start SCREAMING then what, where are ALL of these homeless going to go???

Sadly, they will do what cities are already doing - giving them $50 and buying them a bus ticket to some other city.

When we left Florida in 2006 it was either (or both) St Pete or Tampa that were buying them bus tickets to Lakeland because charities there had set up multiple shelters - basically advertising for them - Lakeland became the preferred winter home. You can guess how that played out. You'd go downtown to the park on Friday night, which had been nice, and deal with the druggie homeless panhandling and pissing everywhere.

Back to my original point. Busing and dumping them in some other city is how they deal with it. Although, they have allowed it to get way, way past the point where that will make a dent in the population.

Progressives have absolutely no clue about the law of unintended consequences. They think they can regulate and legislate it away, thus creating more self fulfilling unintended consequences. And a vicious circle gets worse and worse.

I was based out there in SoCal in the late 80’s/early 90’s; loved it, loved the atmosphere, loved the surf - you couldn’t pay me to go to the cities though, and hell freezing over couldn’t get me to go back.

the greatest gift to the world by Caucasians has been public sanitation which include potable water, sewage treatment systems, trash removal and treatment, toilet facilities, vermin control, food health inspections and disease control. it has doubled life expectancy during the last 200 years.

The Governor’s Mansion is in downtown Austin, just south of the State Capital. I’m sure the governor has seen all the debris left by the homeless. Dubya used to jog around the river. Abbott can’t jog (he’s confined to a wheelchair) but I’ll bet the paths Dubya used to jog are now dangerous and a health hazard.

Maybe the governor can get annex Austin to become a property of the state government. THAT would be an amazing transition. We could put all the homeless on one-way buses to California.

I try very best to never go to Austin. The area right around the Convention Center has homeless. One pulled down his pants on the sidewalk at 8 am and pooped. Lots of horrified people watching. I had an after dark meeting and was surprised by a homeless man hiding in an inset of a building. Not worth it.

Question: What is driving liberals Mayors and city councilpersons to completely disregard their basic duties?

Answer: Cloward-Piven - it’s not just for immigration issues anymore.
