A hair stylist has revealed that we should only wash our hair once a week - and we can just use water to rinse it in between washes.
Paul Windle, owner of Windle London, reveals that if you wash your hair too much you get a rebound effect and the scalp keeps making more oil - therefore making it look and feel more greasy.
The top stylist also revealed that if our hair does feel dirty then a simple rinse with water can be just as effective as using a product, as shampoos and conditioners just loosen any dirt in the hair.
When you do come to washing your hair you should also note how much shampoo you're using: 'If it's not foamy enough, add more water, not more product and massage it in,' Paul said.
Paul, who has just launched a hair lab in the Lake district where all of Windle London's products are formulated, also revealed his other top tips to Femail around hair care, including what product ingredients we should avoid and how to talk to your hairdresser to avoid any hair disasters.

“Dr. Lamb told USA Today that while not everyone who skips washing their hair will develop a foul odor, those who do may have to endure smelling like sour milk seriously. According to Lamb, hair traps moisture, which in turn collects bacteria. In just about a week, you may get a tinge of a mildew scent or, worse, a sour smell emanating from the top of your head. ”
i think that is suppose to be good for psoriasis
Old Spice body wash.
“Old Spice...if your grandfather hadn’t used it.....you wouldn’t be here”

Excellent. Gonna be posting that everywhere too.
Good answer. Good answer.
I like the way you think. Gonna be watching you!
Nope. Mine feels all stiff, gunky and worse than before it’s just rinsed off.
What happens if you dont wash your hair for 56 days?

“If this eight-week experiment shows anything at all, it is that even the most familiar topics can stay under the scientific radar, and that washing your hair with nothing but water for weeks is surprisingly doable.
As for the withdrawal theory: my experiment ended in a draw. I could be one of the greasy-haired. Other peoples hair may actually turn soft like a fluffy kitten after six weeks.
There probably wont be anyone interested in researching the matter any further. This is a rather complex field of research, Spanish hair expert Ramon Grimalt assured me on being asked for information on the effects of long-term shampoo-abstinence.
On that same day in the United States, the existence of gravitation waves was proven.
It is. Also, it has a rich, woodsy smell.
there. fixed it.
Didn’t know Chuck Negron’s cousin was a perfect fit for being a hair stylist. I did laugh at some of his jokes.
I couldn’t do it if given a choice between cold and warm water, but some do.
A few times I had to while I was in the Navy, and no ‘Potable water’ was available for then. I had to fight the urge to loudly yell out, then jump out, for the first few minutes.
A friend of mine says he often takes cold showers, because it makes the body clench the larger muscles, resulting in an overall, better toned, body.
Think of the theory behind Isometrics.
This is why homeless guys typically have a full head of hair.
You can also comb it with a high quality balloon. And wear pajamas to the store. And.....
Yep, I jump in the river on the first day of Spring whether I need it or not. Sitting around a smoky campfire wearing the same clothes and hides all winter just seems to beg for that refreshing dunking.
;'}
How many of us remember that?
“And it seems to me,
You’d spend your time,
Smelling like Candles In The Wind,
Never knowing how to Stink-Proof,
When the Rains set in!”
I don’t remember the theory behind it but something to do with the cold shock jump starts your system.
It has been years since I have been really sick in the winter. But that is not any kind of scientific evidence.
My last real problem was bronchitis where I thought I was going to die and nearly went to the ER. And that was before I started doing the cold rinse offs.
I remember back when my daughter was about 9-11, and trying to be so independent with all of her hygiene. And her hair smelled NASTY. And I ended up having to wash it for her at least a couple times a week, until she got the hang of really scrubbing her scalp.
that said, cold water didnt keep me from getting diverticultis which was the worse pain of my life.
