So i have this Bluetooth speaker loaded with something like 6,000 songs that plays them randomly all night as i work. Yesterday i was at a workstation and East Bound and Down by Jerry Reed started playing around 6am. first time in over two years that song came up on my speaker if ever. I like that song....Smokey and the Bandit and all.. Today at the exact same time i happened to walk by my co-worker who happened to be working at the exact same workstation at the exact same time, 6am and he had the exact same song playing on his speaker. I was like WTF? He said his I-pod was also playing songs in random order and he hasn't heard that somewhat obscure song come up in ages.
What is the probability of THAT happening? It totally freaked us out...
You must see “The Truman Show” immediately. You are actually living in a bubble and your daily activities are being managed by a group of people who are manipulating your every experience. They choreographed this “coincidence” to see what your reaction would be when you encountered an event with impossible odds. They are watching your every move....but don’t become paranoid!
Im not saying its aliens .... but... /;-) /s
Look out for some new remastered album of Jerry Reed's greatest hits.
Soon to be available at a Walmart near you.
Internet of things? Did you have a phone with you and was bluetooth on?
I just watched a video of the song on youtube.
What a great tune and a awesome movie!

“Itunes and Apple music also have a lot of things going on behind the scenes affecting decisions, how algorithms are written, and what is currently even being shared.”
There’s probably a Smokey & The Bandit reboot in the works and Apple is getting paid under the table to push it.
Yea but no....just music players playing random mp3’s..
Apps and devices can detect your presence.
Be seeing you.
Are your devices strictly isolated hardware?
No wifi connections?
No software/firmware updates?
Yea for some reason the format and grammatical errors carried over from what i typed.
I don’t get it...
:)
He uses an old i-pod hard wired to the speaker and mine was in memory card mode at the time.
We both use the same speaker model, it has bluetooth capability but neither of us was using it...he liked mine so he had me pick one up for him on amazon and paid me.
Best $28 dollars i ever spent.
Sure enough, whenever I am with somebody, something embarrassing is sure to come up on shuffle. Like a Shaun Cassidy song that came up recently on a camping trip this past summer. I only have the song because it reminds me of a teenage girlfriend, but try explaining that to the guys chugging beer around a campfire.
occams razor says so too.
+++++
I agree as well. Occam is friend of mine and I've noticed over the years that he always gives good advice.
Oh, skyrockets in flight!
If thats an accurate account of events, the odds in this instance are 100%, no?
No, he said it was a Bluetooth speaker... His buddy also has a Bluetooth speaker... I'm thinking you're on to something here.. LOL
Bill Murray is not impressed.
They say we're young and we don't know
We won't find out until we grow
Well I don't know if all that's true
'Cause you got me, and baby I got you
It was truly horrifying
Just wait till they play Muskrat Love. Just. You. Wait.
I learned a long time ago that Random on my Amazon Music would play some songs over and over. And some not at all.
Now I have them play in alphabetic order.
Not quite that bad - if song selection is truly random, its only one chance in 36,000,000, assuming the co-worker also has 6000 songs on his device. The chance that device A will play song X at any time is 1 in 6000. The chance that device B will play song X at any (same or other) time is 1 in 6000. Now if you want to include the chances that song X prior to that was not played on either device A or B for a specific very large number of plays, it gets very complicated very fast!
