We make-up, lie, create negativity.

Agreed, if by "too late" you mean the USA teeters so close to the failure point that recovery is in doubt.
The "hyenas" will have the military and most of Law Enforcement to use as they please - and they will certainly use both when our major markets collapse. Further, there can be no question as to who amongst the government, military, LE and the general public will have first crack at the government-controlled stores of food.
It will be quite ugly and IMO any recovery will depend upon whether our military is able to restore the Constitution
