As a TV producer in the 90s to recently, I’ll never forget the laughable casting requests I’ve received for casting. “We need a Jewish actor!” Umm, ok, do I cast for a dark haired male with certain nose features and then slap a marmulke cap on him or what? Good gosh!
In this case, “prep” is an acronym for Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis. In other words, the idea is if you take this drug before you are exposed, it can prevent infection of HIV. I wonder how many gays assume that this means they can engage in high-risk sex without condoms or other means of protection and avoid contracting AIDS...
