....For the daytime, Mrs. Trump welcomed the Morrisons in an icy blue crepe knit dress by Scanlan Theodore, the Aussie brand founded in Melbourne in 1987. The dress features billowing cocoon-like sleeves, a cinched belt and v-neck cutout, retailing for about $800.

The cool tone is not only synonymous with Mrs. Trump, who has made the shade one of her signatures since her debut as first lady when she wore a Ralph Lauren ensemble in the same color, but it harks back to Australia’s shoreline.

Mrs. Trump paired the Scanlan Theodore number with Christian Louboutin stilettos in an iridescent snakeskin pattern. Perhaps Mrs. Trump and her personal couturier Hervé Pierre had Australia’s wildlife in mind when creating this look?

....For the evening, Mrs. Trump was inspired by the crashing waves on the Australia coast, wearing a minted turquoise J. Mendel ruffled gown from the label’s Spring 2019 Ready-to-Wear collection, retailing for about $1,500.

The gown’s pleats and ruffles are cut with wave-like trims, while its high neckline and long sleeves are reminiscent of the babydoll-style dresses often worn by Elizabeth Taylor and Priscilla Presley in the early 1970s.

Mrs. Trump wore the gown with a pair matching patent leather turquoise stilettos by Christian Louboutin to finalize this down-under ensemble.

They also are vacationing while there with their children. What better way to get the pulse of what's going on? People with money socialize with other people of money. Our President has done as his daughter too.

Our President is in many pictures of undesirable people. Makes me wonder who might be there (Italy)they perhaps want to talk to? Ivanka went to the Olympics and the NK sister was there...is wasn't long before our President meets with the North Korean leader. One never knows what is really taking place.

I thought that the State Dinner dress was better than the ill-fitting one that she wore earlier in the day. The earlier one was too small/clingy and the evening one was too frumpy.

There was a lot of green used in the decorations on the table and such...the light green of her dress I think was a good choice with her hair color.

I was crushed when Rush started bashing his friend Donald. And I kept saying..I'll give Rush until the end of the week. Then I stopped listening for a few weeks and I'd be in the car and the radio would be on his show. It never failed..after three to five minutes...he was putting down Donald again. Tearing into every decision Donald was making. Especially the men around Donald protecting him. BOY!!! we knew then that strict security was needed even back in the early days!! I used to really look up to Rush.

OK..much better description..thanks. Changing a designers work is probably a no..no..but in Melania's well endowed bodice...Melania's mom needed to tack down the ruffles on the bodice. That's just my opinion. Thinking our President is a big Elizabeth Taylor/Presley guy. She often wears designs like Jackie Kennedy. Interesting she chose this time period. ANY ideas why?

I guess she (FLOTUS) and her designer, Harve ??, decided to go with this era, for some reason.

What are they telling us? Lol.

Wow, I didn’t recognize her. Just fabulous. If I’m not mistaken she also wore an unforgettable silver(?) gown when they were in England earlier this year. I saw only one picture of it and think it was during a profession perhaps into dinner at the palace?
