Pres Trump walks alone as he transfers from Marine One to Air Force One at @MCASMiramarCA. Usually the base commander escorts the Commander-in-Chief, but he got on board okay by himself for flight back to DC.

Pres Trump got back from California last night just before midnight. Spent 22 mins on flight back chatting with reporters. Said it was on-the-record, but "just treat me fairly," he said, and asked if they liked the border wall, acknowledging they're not supposed to give opinions.

..2h..Pres told press that "it was coincidence" that his announcement yesterday about revoking the Federal Waiver for California auto emission standards was made while he was in the state. Admits it might end up in the courts. But insists it'll lower cost of new cars there.

Asked about the $20-bills that a photographer spotted coming out of his back pocket yesterday, Pres says he hasn't used a wallet or credit card "in a long time." He said he carries the cash because, "I do like leaving tips in the hotel." "Oh, that's funny," he said of the photo.

"We're looking at many different things," said @POTUS about expanding background checks on gun buyers. Says he hasn't seen the talking points circulating in Congress. "We're throwing a lot of ideas out there. We’re always going to be watching extremely closely the 2nd Amendment."

..1h...In @FoxNews interview taped aired this morning, @POTUS said he's not ready to make a decision on new background checks for gun sales. Says he's going slowly because "we want to make sure it's right." Also said @BetoORourke making some lawmakers fearful of "a slippery slope."

..38m...Ending visit to Saudi Arabia and UAE, @SecPompeo says he didn't hear anybody who doubted that Iran was behind the attacks on the Saudi oil facilities. The Media as usual is a day late and a dollar short by a few years. They obviously were trying to follow a story about a President mumbling to some foreigner about 'tell him after the election I will have more flexibility' or something like that.
