SANTA ANA, California – A Chinese national pleaded guilty today to federal criminal charges for running an Orange County-based “birth tourism” business that catered to wealthy pregnant clients and Chinese government officials, charging them tens of thousands of dollars to help them give birth in the United States so their children would get U.S. citizenship.
Li admitted in her plea agreement that, from 2013 until March 2015, she operated a birth tourism company in Irvine and in China called You Win USA Vacation Services Corp. You Win would assist pregnant foreign nationals – typically from China – to travel to and remain in the United States to give birth so their children would receive birthright U.S. citizenship, according to the plea agreement.
According to a January 2019 federal grand jury indictment against Li, You Win advertised that it had served more than 500 Chinese birth tourism customers seeking U.S. birthright citizenship for their children. The indictment details that Li used 20 apartments in Irvine, charged each customer between $40,000 and $80,000, and she received $3 million in international wire transfers from China in two years.

Good morning from Los Angeles. The president has a busy day ahead before flying back to Washington, D.C., tonight.
Pool is currently holding in a conference room at the Intercontinental Hotel in downtown Los Angeles. The president has a fundraiser here before heading to San Diego for another fundraiser, followed by a stop at the border.

Motorcade is rolling from the Intercontinental Hotel at 10:04 local time. We are headed to a landing zone before making our way to LAX for the flight to San Diego.
As noted yesterday, this morning’s fundraiser was expected to bring in $3 million. The president’s lunch event this afternoon is expected to raise $4 million. Your pooler has asked the White House for additional details on today’s events and will pass along any information.
In the meantime, press secretary Stephanie Grisham shares this regarding last night’s Beverly Hills fundraiser:

Motorcade arrived at the landing zone at 10:11 and was loaded into an osprey for the trip to Los Angeles International Airport.
There were dozens of people on the sidewalks near the hotel looking on as we departed, including a few who gave the middle finger to the motorcade as it drove by. The route took us through Chinatown, where several more observers gathered to snap photos and video.
POTUS waved and boarded Marine One at 10:14, and we are about to lift off at 10:15.

The press osprey touched down at LAX at 10:24.
The president came to talk to press with his newly named national security adviser, Robert O’brien. Partial quotes below, please watch for playback as Air Force One is about to take off.
“He’s worked with me for quite awhile now on hostages and we have a tremendous track record on hostages.”
Trump called O’Brien “highly respected” and “very talented.”
“Robert has been fantastic. We know each other well.”
He said the national security adviser role is very important if it’s someone the president respects.
O’Brien called it a “privilege” to take the adviser role.
“We’ve got a number of challenges.”
Said focus will be on keeping Americans safe and rebuilding the military.
Said he would advise Trump privately on the situation in Saudi Arabia.
Trump on Saudi Arabia:
“We know very much what happened.”
“I’ve always felt the United Nations is very important.”
Trump said he thinks it’s “a sign of strength” how he’s held back against Iran.
“How did going into Iraq work out?”
“If we have to do something, we’ll do it without hesitation.”
“There are many options. There’s the ultimate option,” he said, referring to war.
He said the US is “in a very powerful position” and said he would announce more details on sanctions over the next 48 hours.
POTUS boarded the plane at 10:42 after speaking for about seven minutes. About to be wheels up for San Diego at 10:44.
