Detourbet might be the next Steinmetz! But for a Car name they may have to go with Steinmetz middle name.

How big is a skwid?
I just expect it to be very small.
you could end up as Skwid marks.
Here’s a Live Cam , can you see all the Electric Cars ? You can see what people and it’s not Electric Cars . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1EiC9bvVGnk

NOT BAD!
"Hey Hey We're Adobe!"
Back in the 1980s they had a similar splash in the press when the introduced their La Car in the US.
The La Car was short lived due to, you guessed it, reliability problems.
The biggest problem I see is it’s a Renault.
A used Nissan Leaf can be had for less.
If any company could make an electric car unreliable it would be Renault.
$10,000 in China. By the time you meet U.S. standards, that’s probably at least $20,000. Still cheap. But will Americans prefer a tiny $20,000 car to a $30,000 real car?
Batteries are still the main impediment to electric cars and other forms of alternative energy. Like the internal combustion engine the state of the art has not really ramped up in 100 years.
You have to park on the curb at your apartment.
Your M-F job is 51 miles away.
You leave at 6:00 and get home about 6:30.
Where do you recharge your car - a daily task?
How long does it take?
Just asking.
I am shocked, shocked! to find Renault produces electric cars.
I do have a question for electric car fans: Where are all these amps, that are supposed to replace fossil fuels, supposed to come from, when you look at the evening rush hour, on a cold day, in the dark?
Or are we back to the 200 mile extension cord?
The media is just going to continue ignoring the issue with the battery packs aren’t they? The batteries only last so long, used or not. They need to be replaced at exorbitant pricing, and they are toxic waste. Plus, just like oil, we will have to be friendly with hostile regimes to extract the lithium.
I don’t understand why the car manufacturers don’t make the batteries interchangeable. You need juice, you stop at a battery station and quicko chango. The one problem is storing enough batteries on site. That’s the advantage of gasoline. You store it underground.
Battery powered cars should be required to recharge ONLY with electricity generated by solar or wind.
Don’t laugh. Nissan could borrow a lot of Renault’s EV technology and then suddenly surprise us with an EV version of the new 2020 Nissan Versa sedan within the next few years.
The US model will be a crossover:

My round trip commute never exceeds 70 miles.
And “under $9,000” makes such a platform viable as a second car for just this purpose.
But the thought of an electric car makes me puke. It’s an emotional reaction that I have no control over.
I’d rather buy a used Civic or Tercel with 60,000 miles on it and get 42mpg. Then I can put any vehicle I wish in the garage.
But hey, that’s just me.
