The man and a passenger told police that as the Escalade pulled alongside their vehicle, they heard a loud pop and the rear window shatter. They said they believed the driver of the Escalade was shooting at them...A grand jury in Dallas County will review evidence in the case and decide whether to indict the pickup trucks driver. This shooting is a tragic example of senseless road rage, impacting the lives of numerous people in multiple families, police wrote in the statement.

why not step on the brakes or the gas pedal?.....I don’t think one should be pulling out a gun so quickly on impulse.....

It looks to me like what people have become in todays world.....easily upset, demanding, and don’t get in their way for any reason or say anything they think is offensive even when it’s not... as they believe they are entitled to put you in your place one way or another.

The “impulse “ was the back glass of their pickup shattering from the glass bottle the guy threw.
Pasillas was mad after he was cut off by the pickups driver and threw a glass bottle at it, Pasillas wife, who was a passenger in the SUV, told police.”

Happens all the time. :-) One dead and the other goes to jail. Good riddance to both of them.

About a block from the large driver’s license examination location in Garland, which always has state troopers around. Also not very far from the old Hypermart location, where Walmart first tested superstores more than three decades ago.
Unless its filled with something flammable and you’ve got a damned good arm.
yes the bottle was thrown....my first instinct would be to step on the brakes and duck.....it would not be “I’m going to get that guy”....but that’s just me...
Even though I carry, in this instance I think my first impulse would have been to hit the gas and get the heck out of there. Not seeing the exchange, I don’t know if that was possible.
Twice in my life I have had another nutball driver point a gun at me. In one we made a hard left across the interstate median and drove back to the previous interchange. Scared us quite well.
