(VANITY) Walmart, CVS and others, to provide armed security at all of their stores.

To ensure safety of it's customers, Walmart, CVS, Walgreens and many other retail establishments who have requested their patrons disarm before entering their stores, will soon start providing their own contracted armed security at all of their retail outlets.

I have been looking for the headline above but have yet to see it.

” Walmart, CVS and others, to provide armed security at all of their stores.”

Satan is not impressed.

The Walmart policy is only changing on open carry. The concealed carry policy is unchanged.

Get together with TexasGator at #27. Between the two of you you should be able to figure it out.

My experience working in the retail industry for many years:

1) Guard services charge a higher rate for armed guards than unarmed guards.

2) Executives in this business lay awake in bed each night trying to come up with a way to shave ten bucks a shift from their payroll

3) All of these armed guards will go away once this story fades from public view and they are no longer a public relations necessity.

It’s not safe to leave your gun in your car where iy can be stolen or used in the environs, or to walk through the parking lot unarmed where you become vulnerable.

Wait until the NPCs realize their protestations have resulted in a guaranteed view of a weapon on every single visit.

We have a tiny IRS office in a strip mall. A staff of two or three. Maybe 8 seats to accommodate “customers”. But there is a armed guard whose job seems to be to tell people to take a number (even if no one else is there) and to not use cell phones!!

In Costa Rica visiting a bank is an experience. Even a small bank has two armed guards. One, with a shotgun, who is outside and lets you in the front door (only two or three allowed inside at a time) and another inside watching your every move.

Good news for retired cops and other security guards—lots of new jobs opening up. The downside will be when one opens fire on an unarmed ‘teen’.

Thailand was the same way when I visited in the ‘90s. Dudes standing at the doors of jewelry shops holding machine guns and frowney faces.

I have a CCW and see no need to display my firearm on my hip.

Until now!

I hope these company policies causes citizens to go out of their way to open carry!

Wal-Mart just asked people not to open carry. They didn’t say anything about conceal carry.

Keep it hidden (its called a concealed carry permit) and only use it when properly needed (as in as improbable as finding a leftist who doesn’t lie) ... Seriously WHAT are they gonna start doing - Frisking everyone who comes into their stores ??

Those PR-implemented Rent-a-Guards will only be able to do so much in whatever few future situations that happen anyway.

"I don't believe that's what they did; if I'm not mistaken, they just don't want open carry."

You are correct. I almost always am carrying. Oddly today in Walmart while buying oil and filters for my truck at a bargain price. I do not open carry even it is legal. If I open carry the bad guy will shoot me first. As a concealed carry I hope to shoot him first as he does not know where it will come from.

Oddly I worry about people that want to open carry in public places though it be legal. It seems they are trying to make a statement. I wish not to make that statement. I have been carrying since it was legal in Texas. None around me knew I was carrying.

As a strict follower of the second amendment I approve of open carry 100%. Unless you are a cop it is stupid. You have given up your element of surprise. The bad guy knows a cop is a threat to him. He does not know which few hundred people in Walmart are a threat to him. This gives one the advantage over the bad guy. If you open carry you have given up this advantage.

That ought to make me feel safe in the Walmart store. Its only about a block long.

Bingo! When seconds count; the armed security guards are minutes away. Then huffing and puffing if they can even get close enough to a crazy shooter or bomber. Nothing changed except our ability to respond to a lethal threat.

For what most armed guards are paid it is very likely they will stay far out of harms way....this is just virtue signaling and fake security.
