US President Donald Trump's personal assistant has been forced to resign from the White House after leaking private information about his family.
Madeleine Westerhout, 29, was abruptly removed on Thursday after the president learned she had been talking to reporters at a dinner this month.
She was drinking and bragging about her access to Mr Trump during his holiday in New Jersey, CBS News reports.
Ms Westerhout had worked with him since the first day of his presidency.

broad brush?
Good question.
She needed to be fired, because POTUS has enough to deal with, from press BS- But maybe the girl was just young and made a mistake? Hope so.
They save the dirt til maximum effect is reached
sigh. *ALL* of these multiple news organization reports are simply a regurgitation of a single fabricated news story by the NY Slimes yesterday which was based on a single anonymous source ... the only thing that is likely true is that this woman did indeed resign ...
And just WHAT “part” would that be...a modestly dressed, office worker” in an upscale job?
Bongino was speculating, yesterday, that a lot of the silly stuff like the O’Donnell stuff was a canary trap to catch leakers.
Maybe, it caught her? What if she was set up by the real leaker? I hope that is being considered.
Trump should get Dan Bongino in as a security consultant.
I work with students...completely irresponsible... lose keys, phones, purses, laptops...DAILY.
One girl lost her keys three times in one week
I wouldn't be so quick to give her an out -- whether alcohol or age (as some on this thread have done).
This woman worked for Romney at some point from what I've heard. Trump has had a mole in his woodpile now for quite some time that continued even after other staff shakeups.
This might be a bit deeper than some may give it credit for.
“It was the White Russians, I tell ya!”
She is not a Trump loyalist, at all.
That is as willful as it gets.
Yea, something else went on or it’s not being reported truthfully. You’re not going to get fired for a simple exchange of information like this:
Hey, where do you work?
Washington DC, for the white house.
Wow, do you ever see Trump?
As a matter of fact, I work directly for the president.
Perhaps it is a sophisticated takedown by Democrats, slowly isolating PDT.
As for me, I do not trust anyone either recommended by the RNC (leaker) Reince Preibus, himself larked like a sieve, John McCain or Mitt Romney (Pres. Bush, also)!
To a person, they are loyal to the GOP Swamp Never Trumpers first, last and always!
I will direct your attention to former McCain staffer, Nicole Wallace and Steve Schmidt, staffers to McCain and sent to assist Sarah Palin. Look how much they helped Palin!
Hose monster
I don’t get it. She may be a plant, she may be a stupid young woman but she doesn’t look anything but presentable. And I’m NOT defending her at all.
Some people insist that all Trump thinks about are women, women, women. They’re out of their tree.
Bellevue as opposed to Fishtown. Murray
The devil you know is better than a devil you don’t.
Trump had many people working for him in the early days who were not so friendly to his agenda. I figure he needed to meet the GOPe and establishment halfway in the early days.
Then steadily he brought in guys he could really trust. His chief of staff Mulvaney must be tremendous. You never hear about him, and that’s the way the COS should be.
“This might be a bit deeper than some may give it credit for.”
No doubt, but my thinking is it could have gone on but for the incident of mention. Ol’ man booze nipped it in the bud, and we’re better off rid of the individual.
As my wife said “She would have gone on subtly passing information to a determined MSM leftist enemy through the election cycle”. One less leaker, but now she’s going to be all over the CNN’s, NBC’s, and ABC’s, etc. denigrating the President regardless unless she’s sued for breach of her position as keeper of the secrets. Her signature will be found on non disclosure agreement(s).
Certainly some leftist is salivating to sign her to a book contract.
The same must be true about Rick Perry.
Perry is now Secretary of Energy. I am stunned at how low key he’s been since the beginning of this presidency.
It’s helpful that he is. During the 2016 campaign, Rick Perry struck me as a natural showboat and front man. I guess it’s all working out for both him and the president. I rarely hear anything about Rick Perry plus or minus.
He’s even less public that Dr. Ben Carson. Dr. Ben has already announced his plans to retire at the end of Trump’s first term.
I don’t think he wanted to be in charge of HUD, but was asked by the president to stay on. Dr. Ben has never struck me as media savvy, a showboat, front man or someone who enjoyed the limelight. He is a fine surgeon and most likely a good medical instructor. That’s where he shines, in the hospital.
