The devil you know is better than a devil you don’t.
Trump had many people working for him in the early days who were not so friendly to his agenda. I figure he needed to meet the GOPe and establishment halfway in the early days.
Then steadily he brought in guys he could really trust. His chief of staff Mulvaney must be tremendous. You never hear about him, and that’s the way the COS should be.
The same must be true about Rick Perry.
Perry is now Secretary of Energy. I am stunned at how low key he’s been since the beginning of this presidency.
It’s helpful that he is. During the 2016 campaign, Rick Perry struck me as a natural showboat and front man. I guess it’s all working out for both him and the president. I rarely hear anything about Rick Perry plus or minus.
He’s even less public that Dr. Ben Carson. Dr. Ben has already announced his plans to retire at the end of Trump’s first term.
I don’t think he wanted to be in charge of HUD, but was asked by the president to stay on. Dr. Ben has never struck me as media savvy, a showboat, front man or someone who enjoyed the limelight. He is a fine surgeon and most likely a good medical instructor. That’s where he shines, in the hospital.
