No, it’s not the guns that are violent. It’s the person who is shooting the gun who’s responsible.
I hate violent guns, but I don’t know of any so I’m fine.
No army and no amount or potency of arms can overcome the cycle of having kids/not getting married/dropping out of school/staying on welfare and the biggie, children who don’t know dad or dad’s in jail or prison.
The gun is their means of destroying each other.
If there were no guns they would kill on the same level but it would be more up close and personal, i.e., stabbing, beating to death, etc.
Complete and utter family erosion brings these neighborhoods to their knees.
Not an inanimate object.
We should never have taught guns how to drive SUVs.
Guns arent violent. People are. Im sick and tired of all these communist propaganda stories in the mass media. Deal with the facts, and if you want to do something then suggest how to change the cause - which is certain human behaviors not inert instruments
I hate to tell you, kid, you are surrounded by Democrats. Thats your main problem.
Renegade guns must be roaming the streets of St. Louis all by themselves. Like Killer Tomatoes.
sounds to me like a wave of drug-gang violence ...
I have guns, locked up in my gun safe. I can assure you they are not violent at all. In fact I’ve never met a violent gun, ever
More people in this neighborhood are killed by Planned Parenthood.
I understand Chicago is a gun free city. Maybe they should go there?
There may be some truth to that, but that's not the whole problem. Until people in those communities own up to the responsibility for their problems and find a way to redeem family life and culture and embrace civilized values, then they'll continue to mourn innocent victims. It's a damned shame that kids have to grow up in that kind of environment.
Note that one young victim and her parents died not from gunshots, but from multiple puncture wounds.
It’s not ‘gun violence’, it is young-black-man violence but no one seems willing to say that out loud. This is not to say that white people commit no crimes, but the problem that places like St Louis, Chicago, Baltimore, Omaha, etc., etc. face is violence committed by young black males. Black lives don’t seem to matter to them.
I don’t know what the answer is. Certainly the “don’t snitch!” movement isn’t making things any better for Americans, black or white, who happen to find themselves living in the afflicted area.
In Cape Girardeau, MO a 15 year-old girl was killed while out on her front porch last weekend. She had just started high school and had all kinds of plans. But there was some kind of dispute either with her or her family and a young man with an extensive criminal record drove by and shot her and her friendjust because that’s what you do if someone has disrespected you.
The ‘hood’ culture is toxic.
If only there was some common factor we could identify...something similar about all these shootings...it’s like it’s right there in front of us...so frustrating...
Too many gun free zones.
Guns sure are violent in St. LOUIS.
Most other places, say North Dakota, those guns are far less violent.
Huh.
The people behind the guns - the criminals - are doing the violence...not the gun.
Get a clue Anita Hassan ...
I’ve been in my neighborhood for nearly 20 years and lived in similar areas my whole life. I’d be surprised if there many folks in my area that didn’t own guns, lots of them, yet we have little to no crime. Certainly no violent crime or “gun violence.” We don’t even have police patrols.
