The test was done in Boca Chica, TX.

The rocket body was built by a company that builds water towers.

Is this a first stage of what will be a multi stage rocket?

Oddly enough, it looks like something from the old Buck Rogers serials.

This is a prototype of the bottom part of the second stage of a two stage rocket called Starship that will have more lifting capability than the Saturn V.

The second stage of Starship is about the same height as SpaceX’s Falcon 9 but a much wider diameter.

Yes.

It is made out of stainless steel.

The other prototypes and the production version will also be stainless steel.

Here’s a video of the second stage orbital prototype being built in Cocoa, FL.

The shorter one will be stacked on the taller one to make the Starship which is only the second stage of the finished rocket.

Why does Starhopper remind me of Obadiah Stane in his Evil Ironman suit?

The DC-3 was sweet. Loved it. And I’d love to visit Greenland... er, I mean, Trumpland.

Thing looks like one of those 1930’s comic book rockets.

No. It a test bed for the engine and the guidance control system and software for the thrust vectoring.

Interesting ... but, when do we get our Imperial Shuttles we were promised back in the 60’s?
